Alabama loses to Dayton 80-48
Missouri loses to Xavier 78-66
Auburn loses to Colorado 91-84
Add Tennessee losing to Georgia tech last night.

We were doing good eating our cupcakes. But man, we need to do better on our vegetables.

Good news is that the cream of LSU, texas A&M, and Vandy haven't stumbled yet. The league may not get as many teams in, but better teams to do damage in the tourney.

Looking at LSU's nonconference schedule, I don't see how any basketball team with a pulse could lose. LSU doesn't play anybody in the nonconference (no one in the current top25): Marquete, Houston, Wake Forrest, & much later OU.

Vanderbilt's nonconference games: St Johns, @Baylor, Dayton, Purdue, & Texas.

Texas A&M: @Texas, @Arizona St, Kansas St, Baylor, & Iowa St <-- A significant Big12 flavor!

Florida: Richmond, @Miami, @Michigan St, Oklahoma St, Florida St, West Virginia.

Vandy-Purdue will be a fun game.

Vandy-Purdue will be a fun game.

Indeed.
Congrats on Kentucky defeating Duke. The wildcats looked much faster than the blue devils.

Texas A&M and Vandy have challenging nonconference schedules. It will be interesting to see if they can get some key wins to help out the overall rpi of the sec!

maybe coaches in the sec should tell their players and fans they are about to play UK everytime they play a OOC game? ask those teams to wear blue, ..lol

One could argue those are the 4 worst teams in the SEC this year. And throw in MSU losing to Southern the other night (another bad team), and UGA losing to Southern (supposedly our 5th best SEC team). The bottom of the SEC is not good at all. I do think the top 4 are strong, but after that...eek.

Yeah I have to agree with all the other posters....It's UK, Vandy, A&M, LSU and then a bunch of hot garbage. But Mississippi State signed 5 #4 star prospects this class and Auburn has a great class for next year. I think A&M is really building a program that can sustain and hopefully either Rick Barnes or Avery Johnson will succeed. I'm still high on the SEC prospects going forward but this year it's the same ole' sam ole'.

Different year. Same old story. November basketball and the SEC just do not go together well.

Vandy also plays in Maui and likely gets Indiana. Hope they spank the Whosiers. Then they'd likely get Kansas in the Maui final.

I still think the SEC will be much improved over the last few seasons, overall. The cupcakes in the league are few and far between this season. It looks like Georgia will be, and Alabama isn't much, nor is Missouri. Tennessee has some talent but lacks any size in the middle. But Vandy is very good, LSU has a major talent increase (we'll see what they do with it), TX A&M looks to be pretty good, Florida doesn't have Donovan but they still have some leftover talent, Arkansas will still be tough, Ole Miss has Moody, not sure about Miss St, and South Carolina will be pretty tough I'd say. Overall, I think the conference will be much better, despite these early losses.
