They are betting against QB1 first round pick on the road in the swamp. Which it’s not really a swamp or even that hot if you ask me.
Kentucky by 10 🍺
It’s nothing compared to Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, it’s like playing in Michigan or Ohio 🍺You ever been to a game at Florida? That’s the hottest and most humid stadium anywhere. They have cooling stations all around the concourse and 12 busses for cooling right outside the gates. Wished we played them in November.

That would indicate they are projecting them to be about even with the spread primarily being home filed advantage.
I have been to both several times in September. Both are miserable for a day game but at least you can get some air moving at Southern. UF in the lower bowl is way worse especially if it is crowded. It’s nothing compared to Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, it’s like playing in Michigan or Ohio 🍺
South Carolina is miserable for a day game late Aug-early Sept.I have been to both several times in September. Both are miserable for a day game but at least you can get some air moving at Southern. UF in the lower bowl is way worse especially if it is crowded.
It’s a running joke on here PD, the Southern Miss game was hyped because of heat so a few of us went with it 🍺You ever been to a game at Florida? That’s the hottest and most humid stadium anywhere. Amen...place is miserable! You ever been to a game at Florida? That’s the hottest and most humid stadium anywhere. They have cooling stations all around the concourse and 12 busses for cooling right outside the gates. Wished we played them in November.
22 Citrus wasn't anywhere close to the one afternoon I spent in the swamp! not close!!!I live in north Florida and usually get to attend when Kentucky visits Ben Hill Griffith Stadium. These September UF games are almost always night games. The weather is usually tolerable, if a bit humid.
The hottest college football game I have EVER attended was the 2022 Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Brutal.
I was at that game. The game Drew barker was almost decapitated. We drove all the way down the night before. It was so hot we left at halftime after my wife nearly passed out.22 Citrus wasn't anywhere close to the one afternoon I spent in the swamp! not close!!!

Stephen Johnson saved that season.2016 season? That game was the low point under Stoops. Back to back weeks of losing to Southern Miss after a big lead at halftime, and then the team just quitting in the second quarter at Florida. I thought the season was cooked, and I'm usually an optimist.
Also had two 1,000 rushers between Snell and Boom.Stephen Johnson saved that season.
Agree with this. The current spread comes prior to summer developments and August injuries affecting both teams. So it means nothing. Would think that the Gators adaptation to a new coaching staff and Mark Stoops' handling of Rodriguez's legal issues will go a long way toward determining the outcome. Anyways, 4 points just about equals the home field advantage. So it is being seen as an even game at this point. I plan to be there.Keep in mind that this line will also move based on week 1 results. UF plays Utah in the swamp in week 1 (they are one of the favorites to win the pac 12). So, if UF beats Utah, the line will probably go up. If they lose or get embarrassed, then this will be a pickem or UK as a favorite.
Agreed. I'm sure our guys know how to prepare for it but that weather is no joke. It actually gets hotter and more humid the further inland and Gainsville is pretty much in the middle of the state. It doesn't mean we can't compete there but it is a factor to be sure. You ever been to a game at Florida? That’s the hottest and most humid stadium anywhere. There will be plenty of real cramps on top of our “planned” defensive cramps lolAgreed. I'm sure our guys know how to prepare for it but that weather is no joke. I was at the 1997 coming out party for Tim Couch as well. Those red plastic seats were so hot they blistered the back of my wife’s legs when she sat down. I think it was hotter in 2016 Florida but we were packed in there like sardines. There had to be extra people in our row. Zero. I mean. ZERO air movement. We went down at halftime for water and they were sold out. We packed it in. Worst trip ever.Wow.
You have been to some cool games!!
Seriously,, I was in the in Orlando that day, and the temperature was hotter than the published high of 86 degrees, but did not compare to Southern Miss, 2017, or U of L in the brand new Papa John’s, 1997.
The weather report for those latter two games was one word: “SMELT.”
I actually got hotter at the ‘19 Citrus, but was in the 5th row, nearer the field.
These days, I make it to more road games than home games. I attended UK. Now I am a consultant for the Mayo Clinic radiology department, and we live in a coastal development not too far from St. Augustine. Don't get back to Lexington every year, but the UK Alumni Assn usually gets us tickets when we make it up there. I get to every Kentucky game (every other year) in Gainesville and also try to attend all of our bowl games since I can usually get time away from work at the holidays. Can sometimes make it to Athens and Columbia. Unless I am on call, I never miss a TV telecast when I cannot attend a game. Same for basketball. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.Wow.

We will be at that game. Gainesville is a really fun town, but hotels and motels are not their greatest resource. Almost everything is a chain business. Sometimes our team stays at the Hilton Conference Center next to campus. The hotel has a Don Shula restaurant and isn't terribly far from the Swamp. Pricing is okay, not great. The Drury Inn, Hotel Indigo, and Hotel Eleo are nice. There are lots of Marriott affiliated hotels in town, but they have gotten expensive. There are some quaint bed and breakfasts downtown which you can google. You can find cheaper places but you usually get what you pay for.Is anyone going to the Florida game this year? I plan to. Hotel prices seem to be pretty steep. Tickets dont look that bad at all.
The only good way to get through Atlanta is between 3am and 5am. You don't want to go through Atlanta after 7am for sure. And believe it or not it's better going through downtown. The bypass seems inviting, and in some cities the bypass is, but for Atlanta it's even worse than going through downtown. We plan to attend the game in Gainesville. The hardest part is getting out of the Atlanta area. After that, it is an easy drive down to Gainesville.
This is a big game for Stoops and for our season. I could watch it on my television without buying any inflated gas for my Highlander, but I want to experience the atmosphere when we teach Napier about the SEC. I experienced it down there in 2018 and I loved it.
We live just north of Atlanta and your take is mostly right, although driving through downtown on 75 is as bad as the bypass. There is no good way to navigate through Atlanta in a motor vehicle. It is torture. Atlanta along with Chicago and LA are the worst cities in America to drive. Honorable mention to Seattle and Boston. The only good way to get through Atlanta is between 3am and 5am. Atlanta did two really stupid things, traffic-wise - 1) They combine two major interstates at the connector and 2) they decided to do that stupid shyt right smack dab in the middle of the biggest city in the southeastern United States (don't @me Jacksonville)...just north of the busiest airport on planet earth.
That's why I moved my life and my career away from there to west Georgia...now only have to deal with apparently everyone in the north and everyone else in the free freaking world moving over here as well.
... PJCS opener and one down at USM (can't remember year) are two of the HOTTEST football games I have ever attended... Pretty big "heatstroke day" vs UK in the PJCS opener as I recall. Caught Birmingham and some other deep south spots on "cooler" days.Wow.
You have been to some cool games!!

Yes I can vouch for this post, UK contacted NASA to outfit the nose of the UK charter plane with a heat shield upon entry into Mississippi airspace because of geothermal dynamics 🍺... That’s only because of sea level ratios vary in specific months of humid conditions 🍺I have been to both several times in September. Both are miserable for a day game but at least you can get some air moving at Southern. UF in the lower bowl is way worse especially if it is crowded.
I’ve looked thru the crosshairs of humidity numerous times SPECT and never once did my scope fog up 🍺🇺🇸I live in north Florida and usually get to attend when Kentucky visits Ben Hill Griffith Stadium.
