Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins died after being struck by a dump truck. He was 24. Haskins was a first-round draft pick of the Commanders in 2019 after a standout season at Ohio State.

What’s your take on if you run out of gas or get a flat tire on the side of the road and need to walk? I’d rather not see my death coming but folks always say to walk on side toward oncoming cars.

Not even at a toll booth. Knew someone that was hit at a toll booth by a truck that didn't stop where they were supposed to stop. Brake issues. He couldn't work for 2 years and may never have gotten back to the work he had been doing. Every bone in his leg and hip was shattered. By the time he was hit, that dump truck was only going maybe 20mph.

I can't fathom WHY Haskins was crossing the highway, IF he was crossing the highway. It makes me wonder if he was having a medical issue of some kind and stumbled out into traffic. Makes me sick thinking about it.

Between this and hearing some folks I know lose their newborn baby it's been a pretty sad couple of days.

That area of 595 is a raised, limited access highway and right by the Dolphins' practice facilities in Davie, FL. If his car didn't break down, and that has not been reported, it would take significant effort to get up there. Don't be surprised if you hear he was suffering a mental health crisis.
