What exactly is the rationale behind ranking Maryland #1? I know it doesn't really matter because we're #1 anyway and it's not the final poll, but I don't get it.

Eye test?
Quality win?
Past performance?

I honestly don't get it. To me the only reason to put Maryland ahead of us is to be contrarian. They have looked worse against worse competition, we have a win against Duke, and we have a history of being consistently excellent with mediocre sprinkled in whereas Maryland is historically mediocre with excellent sprinkled in. Including recently. I'm not bothered, just legitimately confused.
