Went 9-3 as starter and threw for almost 3000 yards. Worth looking at?
He's mediocre at accuracy, doesn't scramble, and threw 12 INTs this season. Duke played a lot of close games to come out with that record. I don't think that he would be very good in the SEC.
Has a good year hits the portal for a bigger payday. A school with deeper pockets will pay more for his services. College Football is hired assassins for the foreseeable future.Don’t understand why he’d transfer anyway. He just transferred from Texas cause he wasn’t going to play. Ball out next year too and go get drafted lol
Duke' QB last year left for Notre Dame, rich going to get richer under the current setupHas a good year hits the portal for a bigger payday. A school with deeper pockets will pay more for his services. College Football is hired assassins for the foreseeable future.
Except for QB’s leaving UK, most of them are lucky to find a place that will take them.Duke' QB last year left for Notre Dame, rich going to get richer under the current setup
He is better than what we have had the last few years. Completed over 60% of his passes, threw for 244 per game. He is a pocket passer, glad he doesn't run much, it increases the risk of injury (Levis any one ). Not to mention it was his FIRST year playing in college. Hell of a lot better than the 5* fraud BV, better than Devin Leary also. You do know Will Levis had a terrible completion %, accuracy, and was not a big name before he blew up ? Kid has 3 years left, we could do a LOT worse. Give me the young QB who has played and produced, over the highly rated QB who rode the bench at a big time school because he wasn't good enough to play.(BV)He's mediocre at accuracy, doesn't scramble, and threw 12 INTs this season. "Better than we have had" isn't much of an argument. Duke's offense revolved around a high volume of short passes against a lower level of competition than UK will face. Remember our old bubble screen offense of short passes? Unless you want a return to that, then Murphy isn't the guy that you want.He is better than what we have had the last few years. Will Levis stats :
2020 (final year Penn State) 8 games - 33/55 (60%) 421 yards / 1 TD
2021 (UK) 13 games /3rd year at QB - 233/353 (66%) 2827 yards (less than Murphy) / 24 TDs (less than Murphy) 13 INTs (more than Murphy).
2022 UK (11 games) 4th year playing - 185/283 (65%) - 2406 yards / 19 TDs / 10 INTs
Murphy - 1st year playing (12 games) - 254/421 (60%) - 2933 yards / 26 TD's / 12 INTs
Levis had 3 years experience over Murphy, played in 1 more game than Murphy in the best year he had at UK, threw for less yards, TD's, but more INTS than Murphy. All while Murphy threw it 68 more times than Levis, but still threw LESS INTs. If he did that in year 1, imagine what he can do after maturing and growing ?? Silly to turn your nose up at a guy whom we haven't had a better QB than him in years.
3000 yards and 26 TDs is 3000 yards and 26 TDs, I do not care how you get it. With our O-Line, MAYBE UK should have done that ?"Better than we have had" isn't much of an argument. It was his FIRST year.Saw him play in Durham against FSU and nothing stood out to me as being a "must get" portal guy.
What is your argument here? No objective person would argue that all yards are created equally. He ranked 71st in QBR. We had a terrible O-Line, and you think his style of play would be the change for us? I just don't get why you are so enamored with him.3000 yards and 26 TDs is 3000 yards and 26 TDs, I do not care how you get it. With our O-Line, MAYBE UK should have done that ?
No, it wasn't. He's a redshirt sophomore, and he started games for Texas when Quinn Ewers got hurt last season. He transferred from Texas because he was going to be 3rd string behind Arch Manning. It was his FIRST year.
Murphy has two years of eligibility left. He redshirted his first year at Texas, played his second year at Texas, and then year 3 was this most recent one at Duke.I'll take Zack Calzada, 6'4" 200 QB at Incarnate Word by way of Texas A&M/Auburn. Completed 64% of passes for about 3500 yds, 34 TDs/8 INTs. Only potential drawback is he only has one year left while Murphy has three.
