Duke conspiracy theory: Scheyer will fake an illness next season so Coach K can pull a Pat Riley.

I'm starting to believe something conspiratorial will transpire next season if Duke has another real chance at a title. I also think Mac Mgbako will reclass and join the Lively class. Duke adds a critical portal guard (or two) and suddenly they're the favorites next season.

Scheyer leads them to a decent record, and then, right before the stretch run, he fakes an illness.

In steps Coach K, just in time for the stretch run and a "final", final home game. I can't see him wanting his last home game and last tourney loss to be at the hands of UNC. Riley took over the Heat in Wade's first title year, and led them to the championship. I think there's a chance something bizarre like this happens next season with Coach K.

You might think this is a bit too crazy, but this is Coach K, the "dark lord of ego" we're talking about.

There is no way that a person like him will be satisfied with a crushing loss at the hands of their biggest rival to end his career. Puppet will not be good enough for him, the trophy must have his name on it. The players that they have coming in for next year will be too much for him to pass up another shot at the title. Since they recruited 4 of the same players the team will not live up to expectations and he will develop a brain tumor in the middle of the season.

Don’t see him coming back. He retired because his body is pretty much broken. He was filmed barely able to walk after the Final Four game. He’s too vain to sit on the sidelines in a wheelchair.
They should have wheeled him out in a wheel chair after Scheyer and Co. draped a silk cape across his shoulders. He is in fact the Hardest Working Man in CBB

When the earpiece isn't getting the job done, Scheyer will summons K back in and Splinter will return to right the ship and alleviate the pressure.

Early draft of an Austin Powers script.

If Ratface would come back, does he return all the gifts he took under false pretenses or is he just bold enough to act like nothing happened and is entitled to all those gifts?
It is like someone having a wedding shower, calls off the wedding and keeps all the gifts. What kind a low life does that?

I believe that any conspiracy theory on Dook is valid. It’s always on the table. If he really came back for the home game vs UNC the networks would probably be in collusion with him to make that happen

Pat Riley was in good health. Coach k looked like he was on his death bed this season.

Bottom line, Scheyer will be a semi-puppet. We all read the article here. K didn't want Tommy Amaker, because Amaker wouldn't be his lapdog.

coach K has made it clear. He is the coach next season just not from the floor. His response t Williams saying he’ll come back was “I’m done with THAT aspect”. He’s not going anywhere. K will have to be removed and I suspect the breakup will be bad but covered. Look for it in Scheyers 3rd or 4th year. Something like that.

That would remind me of Eddie Sutton coming out of retirement to take over at San Francisco during the 07-08 season so he could win his 800th game.

If I'm Sheyer I'm hiring one of the Crazies to be my taste tester cause K aint gonna like how he went out having UNC ruin his celebration last home game and ending his career too. If it smells funny when it gets up to your nose John - dont drink it!

☝️This
He’s not coming back

lol if Coach K wanted to continue to coach he would have..............just not retired lol.

If Coach K wanted to be behind the operations but just not on the sldelines anymore..........he would be.

Dude's got 5 titles. He can do whatever he wants at that school. There's no need for any conspiracies lol.

Except they never in a million years thought he'd lose that last home game to UNC or have K's career ended by a first year UNC coach.

Did you forget that part?

Also, this way, K doesn't have to do any of the real leg work. Scheyer can prepare the team, do all the work, and K can coast in at the end and reap the reward.

And to think not giving a step stone to your hand of promise land Hurley. Is the real question mark ontop of amaker. Someone in a insane world would even question, much less day after day, after all these years. Shit doesn't add up. I am sorry it doesn't. Jon S. cannot coach one bit, proof was in the pudding. Look at his title team, it was Nolan anyways. Strike the pot hot, strike, strike. It will steam itself away. Winning helps so much. Sustainability! KY is losing alot, no appearances, and no titles in recent memory. Divided mentality. One and done's seek winning one and done route. It's duke of late, like 20 recruits ago late.

Wasn't there a jewelry scandal associated with Jon title team? Enough said! Big $, big easy. Models looking other way to get their chance, after a aggressive photo shoot. Aint no damn different here.

Has there been a season since Cal has been here that Vegas didn’t have us in the top 3-5 for odds of a championship in the pre-season? You’d think they would have learned their lesson after 2015

Eh if that bothered him so much to the point he would change course completely on his future, he could have always just came right out and said u know what on second thought I'm not going out like that.

But I have a feeling a final four isn't exactly the worst way in his mind to go out on.
