Definitely not the ideal scenario. Your rookie quarterback's first start is on the road and it's against an elite defense? I doubt Stoops, or any coach, wants to do that especially with a bowl game on the line. Towles hasn't played well the last month, and may not have the confidence of the players or fans, but a coach's job is to ignore the noise and go with the player that puts you in the best position to win.
