Back before Bam announced his intentions for the draft, several people on this board questioned whether he should stay or go, based on his draft position, as predicted by Draft Express. I had said that I thought he should go, and that I thought he would go somewhere between 14th and 20th. I also said that NBA Draft.net had him in that range. Those who thought he should stay another year at UK used the Draft express prediction of very late 1st round, or early 2nd, and were adamant that it was more accurate than NBA Draft. net. I did not agree with that and, luckily for Bam, NBA Draft.net proved to be a lot more accurate on his stock. I don't think it is always better than Draft Express, but, I don't think it can be dismissed as inferior, either.

Yes! Don't know if you remember me I bought some tickets off of you and brought you some BBQ back in 2012. But I agree with you on draft net and saying that go look at where they have our guys at next year. They are really high on our guys

So the other services moved him up. So you guys use that to discredit Ben's opinion on draft net. So he goes to some work outs and shoots well. Got news he always shot well. Draft express listened to Chad Ford when he said bam was falling cause of rebounding. Without paying attention to the circumstances of our style of play and cal hollering DONT FOUL every 3 seconds bam was playing apprehensive. Then as Payne worked with him he understood how to rebound. He has been able to shoot. He had a good shot here and hit it when he took it. Draft net made their own evaluation and didn't drop bam like everyone else when Ford ran his mouth.

Bam was always a Lottery Pick. Only misinformed and lazy media who never took the time to look at him play and just pigeonholed him as "Dwight Howard" because of his shoulders and slight facial resemblance saw him as a 2nd Rounder. It took Cal having to tell him to ignore something as stupid as Mock Draft sites (which you'd be stunned how many kids and their camps actually keep up with and give far too much credibility to regarding a decision) to assure him he'd be taken and in the Lottery.

Seriously OP forget these guys. You showed everyone how smart you are regardless of what a few (all) of these people think

Well, Blue Bomb actually predicted he would go #14. Blue Bomb knows what he's talking about. You can't argue with Blue Bomb.

Blue Bomb is the bomb.

The thread was not about me, it was about people dissing NBA Draft.net. The comparison that I gave between the two services was long before Draft Express raised him to middle 1st round. I just want people to quit dismissing NBA Draft.net as useless when the draft is a topic.

A good rule of thumb for posters is to read over a post and if the word 'I' appears seven or eight times, start editing. Most people stop reading at the third 'I.'

I agree with you and I normally don't post to agree with anyone. It's because I think you are the best poster on here.

Regrettably most people will never know how "I" feel..:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I hear Chad Ford is still working on his final predictions.

I don't know if it's changed recently, but the writing on NBADraft.net was horrendous. And DraftExpress is noted for being one of the most accurate prediction sites year after year.

i used my own opinion. He never showcased the ability hit a shot outside the lane consistently. He rebounded when he wanted to and disappeared just as frequently.
However he showed much better in the workouts. He could be a Tristan Thompson type player if he works for it.

SO, i thought it would be interesting to see which site actually did better instead of judging it based off one player, which is borderline stupid.

so top 5 picks both Draftnet and Express got it right.

Next 6- 10, basically Draftnet completely stunk it up with missing all but 1 pick, while express got all 5 correct. (So right now express +4 pick)

Next 11 - 15, both net and express got 1 right with is Luke Kennard to 12th pick. +4 for Express still

Next 16 - 20, Neither got any right, which makes sense since they made too many mistake earlier on.

Next 21 - 25, Express gets another one right with OG Anunoby on 23rd pick. Which puts Express +5.

Next 26 - 30, Draftnets finally gets one right (Caleb) while express misses. Which puts Express having picked extra 4 right.

Also, when it regards to Bam, it's not like draftnets got it right, because they didn't. Neither site had him going 14th. driftnet was closer, but by 1 pick. Both sites were well aware that he wasn't going to fall very much.

Also, this isn't a clear judgement on which is better, but within 30 picks, express got 4 more right. That's quite huge if you ask me. Also trade factors in, but express seems to have done a better job this year.

I could also look into the gaps between where player picked and where it was predicted to further evaluate which is better. Also, just one year is bad comparison as well. However, saying BAM was picked at 14th therefore Draftnet is equally good as Draftexpress is a dumb comment.

OP...if Bam had not shot lights out from 3 point land at the Miami workout, he would have been drafted lower.

I don't recall you or anyone else predicting that phenomena.

You know what the op is a good guy as a member of the 101 club let me, my boys, my dad and my nephew go down close to the floor and take pics. I can vouch for his loyalty to the cats. He has been there in rupp. Now agree with him or not I know he is not a "look at me poster". Ben you have my respect and I hope your still at rupp every game
