Don't have subscription access, but reading between the lines, Diallo at #35 and none of Gabriel, Washington or Vanderbilt in the top 60. Updated as of this morning.

That's surprising especially on the PJ Washington projection. I would expect he would go somewhere in the 2nd round. But Givony is pretty good at this.

Just curious, because while we don't know "for sure", seems to be a bunch of BS if any of these guys leave and has someone saying "possible first rounder." Givony and ESPN are about as plugged in as it gets. They might miss a few, but this is the equivalent of Lunardi sayinga 6-seed and a team not making the dance.

What exactly would you have him reconsider? You can't help stupidity when all 3 wasn't projected to leave.

Would that be a problem for anyone else? Losing 3 guys in one year to the undrafted NBA? If it happened there's no way I wouldn't be more careful moving foward. You simply cannot compete with that kind of roster turmoil.

He has SGA at #12, Knox at #15 and Diallo at #40 according to the ESPN insider article I just looked at

On athletic potential Diallo at 40 could be a good pick.

I'm simply amazed that a player who could not be in games at crunch time while playing in college is now a Top 40 player in the country outside of NBA'ers?

Did Daillo show anything spectacular? He had 2-3 dunks and a couple of rebounds all season that matched his vertical hype.

I fire my GM if Diallo is drafted period. He may be the most lopsided athlete versus bball player we have ever had. Richard Madison is Larry Bird compared to Hamidou.....

I would look at what Gerald Green has become, after being a first round pick out of high school and washing out of the league. He played a key role for Houston this year, 13 years later.

A freak athlete with good work ethic for a 2nd round pick and a couple million investment? I don’t see that as a bad thing.

I think most of us agree, but what can you do? How do you know a year or two before the draft if a player is going to make a stupid decision?

Give it a few hours, man. Then you’ll know how mad you need to be.

Then again, if any of them leave we won’t really know how mad to be until the draft. Because we don’t actually know where anyone is going to be picked, no matter what ESPN says.

I understand what you're saying and agree with you a little but I can see why you take a chance on someone like Diallo. If the light comes on for him you're gonna have a stud.

Seems like a short time ago the mantra here was " Cal has NEVER had a player go pro early that wasnt a first round pick " to " Cal has never advised a player to go early that wasnt a first rounder " to possibly losing 2-3 that go undrafted period . Not a good look IMO .

If we lose 3 guys to nowhere Cal will have to consider some things moving foward.

Cal is very progressive in many aspects of his job. However there are some areas he's a little slower to respond. He said last year that he didn't like the grad transfer thing but sounds like he's going after Travis. A little tweaking by Cal would be fine by me.

No it's not, but what can Cal possibly say or do to stop their thinking. These kids have their mind made up long before they get here that they will be one and done regardless. There's not another school that has to deal with this like Cal. He must have the patience of Job.

He created the monster , he HAS to manage it .

A lot of people on here act like there's nothing that can be done, but there is. And if we loose 3 who don't get drafted then he has to change his recruiting pitch. He has created this culture and he can change it.

Again, this is why certain posters lose their load when they think someone from another team is leaving early and with little guarantee. They desperately want this to be a nation wide problem and it's not. Briscoe Diallo Vanderbilt Washington Gabriel would all be leaving early without a guarantee. Just find one program that is looking at a potential situation like that? Freshman and Sophomores leaving without even being drafted?

I love Cal but I'm sorry, that is a UK problem. So yea there's something Cal could do, but I think Cal likes to ride the wave rather than controllng it. And that's fine if you want to agree with that fringe philosohy, but trying to turn it into an "everybody" problem when it clearly isn't is what gets so frustrating.

I think he is considering them now going after Travis one way or the other...

Yea I'd say going after grad transfers and shooters lately should plug up the crowd around here that relentlessly backed the philosophy of athletes that can't shoot and provide little basketball skill.

If that happens Cal should consider some things moving forward, but he won't

I think he already has, trying to bring in Travis no matter the returnee's. I think that loom's large going forward. Cal will not be pawed at any longer thank you...

I think it’s just that he hasn’t had any freshmen declare and not be first round picks. That’s still true, right?

I think the instability comes from losing freshman AND sophomores who are college type players and leave for little to nothing. When people try and detail it down to a small sub category, it's all reaching.

If Vanderbilt leaves is he still the greatest Rebounder Cals ever had? Asking for a friend

But people have been crying for years about all of our freshman leaving, when the truth is, all the ones leaving have been getting paid.

I agree that there have been a few sophomores leave who should have stuck around.
