Dook's whistle

Auburn is playing like Clemson (grabbing, slapping, hand checking, arm bars, over the back, etc.) but the refs are actually calling it. Must be nice.

It’s pretty lame that getting special treatment is really just getting the correct calls. I don’t even fault teams like Auburn for playing that way, it’s not their fault refs usually reward it.

They let Dook get away with the same crap. brown had an easy offensive goaltend not called, I’ve seen Broome get mugged about 4 times with no call.

And there it is a flagrant foul on auburn trying to block a dunk .pitiful!

Flagg gets away with a ton of fouls. He had 4 fouls in the Arizona game but 2 or less in the rest of the games this season. I have watched at least a large portion of 3 of their games this year (UK, Auburn & Kansas) and he easily should have been called for 4-5 fouls in each of those games. It makes a huge difference when you know going in that you can play as physical as you want with no fear of fouling out. (See Zach Edy) I guess that is the benefit of being the media hype machines darling.

It's not going to happen. He's the chosen one.

No way the refs were going to let Auburn get a win at Cameron. But it would have been tougher for the stripes to carry them if it wasn't for the freshman drilling threes the first half.

That flagrant 1 called in the 1st half was ridiculous. Yes, contact with the head, but he was clearly trying to block the shot, even Bilas was surprised they called that.

I didn't like Pearl going with preplanned subbing early in game when they were on a heater and up 13-2. #31 came in and immediately gooned up the game for Tigers and allowed Duke to get back into the game quickly. Auburn has been impressive and will be a contender in March but premeditating your substitutions costs teams and specifically in March--so it's something to watch. That 31 is hot garbage for them.

He uses his off arm to push the defender away on every drive. It’s obviously taught to them because most all Duke players are doing it. Have not seen it called in any game. Watch the off arm on drives.

and he hooks with the chicken wing too. I have saw him on multiple shots by opposing players hack down across their arm and not get called.

Flagg actually committed 2 fouls on the play that won the game for Duke. He grabbed the arm of the Auburn player who had secured the loose ball and then body blocked him to separate him from the ball. Ended up with Duke player hitting a 3 pointer just as the shot clock expired.

At the exact same moment, Jay Bilas climaxed in his chair.

Tennessee is gonna be #1 if Creighton holds on and Auburn loses to Dook.
Good I hope UT gets the Number 1 ranking. UT will get theirs when they have to go to Illinois. Most of their fans believe they are going to roll the Illini anyway. They are basically counting it as a win already.

In our game that goofy rebounding dude crashed into Amari from behind hard enough to spin him around. The dude grabbed the ball out with two hands while falling to the floor. Before our guys could even get there, the whistle blew for a held ball while we were reaching. No Foul over the back, no walk for falling down. Held ball as we are reaching. Possession Clemson.

Did he even make contact with his head? His head went back but it looked like he hit his upper chest/shoulder area to me.

I have always wondered about the sub pattern for many games- seems no matter what, coach's use the same sub pattern if it is going good or bad- to me if going well, leave those guys in

I was shocked how many Head Coaches assign substitutions to the Assistants. I've been a HC a few times at lower levels in HS and in AAU and in HS I always subbed as the HC--but as an Assistant I've been assigned to sub guys and you get told by the HC the minute mark they want guys in--so prior to the game he'll say 12 min--sub in....and personally not a fan of that. How many times would we see guys who were on a heater get yanked in the last 3 seasons with Cal? Only to put in subs, blow the lead/momentum and then offense stagnates.

Yeah there is a fine line between delegating responsibility and not doing your job of managing the team. Curious , what did you think of Coach Pope subbing and play calling against Clemson ? He alluded that he micromanaged the calling one plays in offense which might cause us becoming stagnant on two runs that Clemson had 10-0 and 10-2 and perhaps he should played more Carr and Butler which got in fault trouble.

Appreciated his honesty and admission but that game was so much about Butler's foul trouble and the type of silly fouls he earned were bad. So you get stuck with a less talented guy playing extended role and game went South a bit. He needs Kriisa and it's one game but those minutes/role are too much IMO.

Felt Clemson dictated the terms/pace of play and that's what every team tries to do but they achieved it. Guessing that's what Coach Pope was most frustrated looking back but I had no issue with the loss in terms of effort. Just thought UK got beat and that is going to happen. They played hard/well and UK didn't hit shots that were open and FT's early in game which can erase some of the missed shots.

For the short time it took to throw this roster together, really like what we've seen and think it's only going to get better when the Staff can get what they want in terms of HS/Portal talent that fits style of play. Really enjoy his candid takes as a coach but also think it speaks to someone who is comfortable and intelligent in how they don't need to be place blame. Shows how Coach played at a high level as well. Players know the game and know what they need from their coaches and my guess is watching the film he saw the pace was on Clemson's terms too much and wish he'd have done differently. My defense of him is without Butler--hard to maintain as Kriisa isn't capable of handling the extended role for this team to be it's best.

I think this team will continue to improve when they master the offense later on.
