Don't Write off Skal Labissiere as a Top NBA Draft Prospect Just Yet

Not to mention Townes had much more experience playing against pros with the Dominican Republic and during the early season trip. People just need to learn patience and believe in the process. If anything, the Brandon Knight team showed me that Calipari gets the benefit of the doubt during any regular season for me because I know he will have them whipped into shape by March. Like he says each and every year, you can't skip steps.

Brandon Knight Team and 2013 Harrison Twins Freshman team. After the loss against SC who would of thought we'd make it that far.. When you got talent you got a chance..

I'm behind Skal 100% but he's really thin and weak. I don't see how he can bulk up and get stronger until the season ends. I can't see him making a big impact until he bulks up.

To be fair, KD is thin and weak (Apple and orange comparison skill wise). It's all mental with Skal IMO. Fwiw, which probably isn't much :joy:

I don't think when people call Skal weak, they're talking about physical strength exclusively. When he gets the ball in the paint, it's not that he's "weak" -- it's that he isn't strong with the ball. He looks out of place. It's all mental. He'll be fine eventually, if not this year then next.

He'll be fine. We are spoiled here with the success we've had with other freshman bigs. Most take a while to develop.

Tayshaun played four years at UK, averaged 5 points a game as a freshman, was physically weak and introverted. He blossomed into a star and his NBA career has been awesome. One of my favorite UK players. Kevin Garnett was one month shy of being TWENTY (20) years old when he jumped from high school and played his first NBA game. Prior to that he played for several high schools and was Mr. Basketball in two (2) different states. No doubt his NBA career qualifies him a superstar as well. I love Skal and I hope my post didn't indicate anything other than he's just an unfinished product at this point. Comparisons to TP and KG aren't valid.
