Will the new Troy coach attempt to hire any current UK staffers or is he too far removed from this staff?

Troy loves them some Kentucky boys don't they? Wonder if he came on recommendation by Sumrall and Brown? Great to see Parker get a shot. In two years are we going to be calling for him to replace Stoops?

No. Sumrall is the next guy. And frankly don’t see Parker as a better offensive mind than Coen if you really wanted to go with an offensive guy.

Was he the big slow white WR that caught EVERYTHING thrown his way? Seems like he had quite a few TD's.

You are thinking of Tommy Cook who was his roommate.

Tommy was about 5’ 11” and pretty damn fast. His Dad was a Hs FB Coach in Texas, and Tommy had one of the fastest times in the shuttle I ever saw.

Last time I saw Tommy Cook was at Papa John’s. He and his GF sat behind me at the 2006 U of L game.

Ahh…. What a throwback, the Dale Earnhardt Jr / Tommy Cook drama. That was something.

While we are going back in memory lane, who was the TE that wasn't that quick or fast, but has a great year in the air raid?

James Whalen, Jr. was first team AP AA, IIRC, with the 1999 Music City Bowl against Syracuse being his last game, and with a badly dislocated shoulder.

I think he was drafted by Dallas, but do not know if he played much pro ball.

I couldn't remember his name, but I remember few could cover him!

As much as I like Sumrall , you have to go with the coach with offensive background. In today’s game, it’s a lot easier to replace a defensive coordinator then it is an offensive coordinator.
