What do you all think? Would that be a good thing or a bad thing? Sean Sutton and Saul Smith have done it.
I wouldn't. Look how ridiculous our fans are after losing some games again this season.
Bring him in. Cal is more loved than Tubby, so people will keep the trap shut in fear of ticking him off. And no way will Cal sit a John Wall-type in behind his son.
Completely different situation than those guys. Sutton and Smith were legitimate D1 prospects who had other D1 offers. Brad Calipari is not. If he comes here, it will purely be in an end of the bench token walk-on role. He'd never actually get real playing time.
Which, frankly, is probably a good thing. He won't have to deal with the pressure, expectations and controversy that plagued Saul and Sean's time here. Instead he can just cheer from the end of the bench and enjoy the ride.
I disagree. It could run Cal off sooner they way some fans act. It'd be the biggest recruit we've had under Cal because it would keep him here at least four more years.
He's getting low D1 interest. Had 5 three-pointers playing against Gabriel's team this weekend.UK90 is exactly right.
Sean Sutton was a legit D1 recruit. Was he a UK caliber recruit, no probably not. But he would have started for many mid-majors.
Saul Smith was also a legit D1 recruit, who also would have started for many mid-majors, but just wasn't a UK caliber recruit. But due to Pitino seeing no need to recruit a backup to Turner, Saul by default became the backup PG as a FR. And then other teams used his PT against Tubby in recruiting a PG the next three years.
I don't think Brad is a D1 recruit, but if he is it would not be even as a mid-major starter. So Brad would be in the 5 on the floor at the end of a blowout. So the biggest impact of him coming to UK to play would be it would greatly increase the chances of 4 more years of Coach Cal at UK. And I like the sound of that.
I heard an interview yesterday from this past summer with Brad Calipari and he certainly sounded as if the would prefer to play somewhere on his own merits. He's getting low D1 interest. Had 5 three-pointers playing against Gabriel's team this weekend.

If Brad Cali wants to become a basketball coach, either college or NBA, and make a name for himself then he ABSOLUTELY needs to play for his dad at Kentucky. I'm not going to go into the reasons because they are self-evident.
However, if he just wants to play hoops and screw girls and be BMOC he needs to grab the first scholarship offer he gets from Vermont or College of William and Mary or whatever and live off his dad's millions after he's gone. And I can't blame anybody that goes that route because it has sure as hell worked out well for me.
I was about to say... Anyone thinking that Brad, as a walk-on at UK, isn't going to get girls then they never went to school in Lexington.I doubt walk-ons have any trouble with the girls at UK..
I personally hope he goes his own route. The fishbowl at UK is bad enough now, Imagine being the Head man's son on top of all that. I say he stays northeast.
That happens mostly in places like here where posters stay anonymous. Cal is treated with a lot of well earned respect in person by our fans as is his family.Brad could and should go elsewhere . Nice young man. He wouldn't want to listen of all the back seat drivers. So many UK fans fell they can say awful things about the coaches and program like its a birth right. So critical. Go enjoy college. On the road wouldn't be any better. UK has some if the worst fans. Bandwagon jumpers.
