What do you guys think? Was he not playing because of academic issue or just not performing?

SKJ is a good player. Better than Willis. Even as a sophomore, in the NCAA West Virginia rout, Cal didn't put Willis in until the last 60 seconds.

There's a reason he didn't play.

Some of you act like Cal is the big meanie that won't give the kid a chance to prove he deserves minutes.

When you prove you deserve minutes, you get them.

He didn't really get to play this year, hope he has more playing time next year to make an impact for the team:popcorn:

This has been addressed. SKJ was a late bloomer. His per numbers early in the season was really good on points rebounds and blocks. In late December his per 30 was like 12 points and 10 rebs and 3 blocks. He got lost on defense alot. He also was fine taking a backseat. This kid is far from bad. He played decent in the McDonald's game. He wants to be coached up. If he does what he is supposed to and works on his weaknesses. We will see a much more productive player.

I don't expect too much out of him next yr but I do expect improvement. I think he will play about 10 mins a game next yr maybe more depending on how he progresses. The talent this yr and next yr should help him along. I really hope hump sticks around especially after his Marcus lee type game against the cheats. As cal said he reached out to them not the other way around so unless he is a quitter he will stick with it. I don't read too much into his ranking as all players are different but he is goven in an fair stigma due to being a Burger boy. Even he would have stuck with va he might be a tad better and would of played but he would be in no way prepared for next yr

Gonna be about 7 front court players ahead of him next year.
Dude u are one of the weakest trolls ever. It's cool we get it NCAA is giving The Cheats a title before they take 2 away. Are you guys praying for Knox? Cause if u guys don't get him where is your recruiting ranked without him? Bout 15 mid majors recruiting better than Carolina right now.

You could be right but he doesn't seem the type to me.

Patrick Bateman didn’t strike me as the Wall Street serial killer type, but you just never really know until the Huey Lewis and the News music cues up and the plastic spread is suddenly covering the carpet.

The kid has some nice skills, kind of in -line with Skals' skill set. He will be a nice player.

Had to be something more than not playing well. How could he have been any worse than WG? Hump added nothing for most of the year.

"The best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores" Al McQuire. I am a little surprised he didn't transfer out, SKG could be a pretty good player at about any school other than the blue bloods as we like to call them. I read on here somewhere that he didn't want to play this season just learn from the best, if that is true, then he is where he needs to be. If it was me I would want to be somewhere playing every game.

He didn't play hard enough in practice. He showed some improvement in that regard toward the end of the year. That's pretty much it.

He will be as good as he wants to be.

In addition to busting azz over the summer and in practice, he has to get legit run. That's all there is to it. Same for Hump and Tai. Cal has got to play these 3-4 year guys more so when the time comes they can be ready to step in and ball out.

SKJ has plenty of skills. He also has height, length and decent athleticism. I'm sure the kid wants to play in the NBA one day. His path to that goal is at UK, not some lesser school where he can play more now but not be pushed, even forced, to maximize his abilities.

If he works hard during the summer on his defense I think we will see a much improved player. I don't know what kind of coaching he had in high school and what kind of talent he played against. Maybe he was just behind other players at UK. Hope the best for him.
