Do you think Emoni Bates will actually play at MSU?

If he does play a year of CBB it will be a big defeat for the GLeague because I could see them offering him a more than a million dollars.
Not a single second. Will probably never even go to campus or bother with registering for classes.
he probably won't, hopefully because he can just go straight to the league.
i'm more interested with the guys that just left. We will be watching the blue/white game (knock on wood) before EJ Montgomery goes undrafted.

Freshman that go the Michigan state seem to stay two years. I don't see this kid being in Izzos dog house, he will take the money and run. This might have been a smoke job by Izzo, so he can tell boosters he is recruiting top players., even though this kid has no intention to go to college.
I never heard of him until today. yes i think he will be a four year starter at msu.
MSU fans won’t be happy if that’s the case. They’ll be chewing their fingernails anyway for a loooong time wondering if this kid plays college ball.

I would be utterly shocked if he plays one second for MSU. In the right scenario though I could possibly see him playing one year there. But, pigs will fly before he plays a second season for them.
The ones saying that have to be concealing inner anxiety that will only grow with time. Btw I’m fine with him and other elites playing CBB over taking G League Money.
Bates is just as skinny as Holmgren. Holmgren is just as talented on offense and a better shooter than Bates. Holmgren is also a much better defensive player than Bates. So why is Holmgren too skinny to be any good, and Bates is a super star, why is that ?
Holmgren is a freak. Looks like he’d fall over if you blow on him but he goes out there and embarrasses people.
ONly if they change the 1 and done which wont happen it seems for a couple of years down the line. He already said he wont go to the g league.

Myron Medcalf on ESPN pretty much agrees that he's going G-League plus some shoe company could sign him to a huge deal. Doesn't believe he will end up playing for Sparty.
The ones I have talked to are doubting he ever sets foot on campus as a freshman too

No he wont ever even come close to playing there. He only committed because he and his family were vocal about their ass hurt over the fact nobody but michigan state reached out to them when coaches were first allowed to do so. They were mad because nobody called over the fact that it's a forgone conclusion that he will never play college basketball.It's just a formality ....show of respect for Mr. Oerrarated Tom Izzo. This is basically just free publicity for Michigan state
None of these people know Bates.
G league is not right for someone like him. Bates has even said so he’s not interested in G league and that’s the right attitude for him.
He gets way more exposure and press by being at MSU. He grew up a huge fan of MSU and Izzo. He has constantly hung around MSUs campus his entire life.
It’s rare a generations type talent has this much connection and love for a school but he does with MSU. Just look up how many times he’s visited East Lansing.
The likeliest scenario imo is he re classifies to 2021 and plays at MSU.

Why is the G-league not right for a top5 player? He could get up to a half million dollar deal, or play at MSU for free..
People always say "Why play for free??".. until it's *their* school and then it changes. He will get no more or no less exposure at MSU, than any other top10 recruit picking between a college and the G-league.. yet, it's a real dilemma for those top recruits. Exposure is overrated. Cade Cunningham is staying at OK St and is, quite literally, playing for nothing.
If Emoni Bates is truly one of the decades best recruits, it makes no sense to play for free and risk injury.
As it stands now, personally, I don't trust that any top10 recruit will play college when there's the option to actually make money, be developed FOR the NBA game, and not have to deal with classes and homework.
Cal is one of the only coaches that develops FOR the NBA, and I STILL have doubts about a top10 recruit coming here.

He’s not eligible to play in the G league in 2021-2022 because he wouldn’t be 18. And he’d have to re classify just to get to MSUs campus in 2021 which is the most likeliest scenario.
He can’t go pro even after 2021 because he wouldn’t be 19. He was born in 2004.

Why everyone hung up on G-League could just go overseas and make as much if not more... No way he ever touches a college campus lol
I get it. You want Bates on campus in EL. As would I if he had commited to UK. But you have to realize you are the only one thinking he does any of the stuff you mentioned. He even hints to it in his commitment. Have ever heard a recruit phrase his commitment like Bates did?
