Why do we talk about KU so much? So many of our fans feel threatened by them or something. I don't get it. We own them, constantly bringing them up on our board reminds me of all the UK bait threads over on the little bro board.

Jeff, you are off on this one pal. You do not get it because you are obviously unaware of current events. This is not a bait thread, this is an excellent informative thread due to the current recruiting situation:
#1. Giles, Monk, Fox, and Bolden are there right now.
#2. It is a valid question, especially after so much was written regarding Bridges visit and the great football win MSU had.
#3. Glad Kansas is getting creamed.
You should get caught up with events and apologize to the OP.

That ignore button sure did clean up this thread in a hurry! Between how boring late night at the Phog was and how lopsided the football game is this must be one of the least effective visitation weekends for the jayhawks. Figure that it gives our recruits that much more time to discuss UK and how much better it would be to play together for the Wildcats!

Several reports from our last big miss, Bridges, stated what a great time he had at the MSU football game in which they upset Oregon on national tv. Many MSU fans felt it was huge in his decision.
He simply provided a contrast.

Yup, and there are a gazillion other threads about KU talking about how bad they are, Bill Self's hairpiece, Diallo, Helms banners etc… I thought we were the best program, I thought this was supposed to be BIG BLUE NATION? No, instead we spend our time talking about a program we have dominated like they are some sort of a threat.

No one said that KU was on MSU's level.
You are right, Bridges did not commit because of the game. However, it was stated many times over how much he enjoyed the atmosphere with the other students at that game.
Others said it helped in his decision, not me.
And again, you are wrong. He, himself said his mind was made up to come to UK, then after his great visit (to the game) his friend committed to MSU and he changed his mind.

Maybe I am wrong, but here is what I took from your responses:
A poster starts a thread solely based upon the fact our TOP 4 recruits are visiting Kansas today.
You imply that the main point is regarding Kansas, and for no valid reason.
You say a football game cannot sway a recruit and ask how KU and MSU are comparable.
The poster appeared to be showing the immense contrast of a TERRIBLE game experience with our last missed recruit who had a great experience. No one compared football programs, he was specific in mentioning the mood/atmosphere, nothing regarding the team itself.
You admitted in your initial response you did not get the point for the OP's post.
That is why i responded and offered the back story.
You became very defensive, and informed us that nothing else matters, we have Cal.
I don't know what else to tell you.
We all have opinions, if anything we have too many Duke threads in my opinion, but they are our closest competitor.
Many of the KU posts are due to so many KU lurkers here.
Season hasn't started, thread topics are bit more varied and recruiting is super hot right now.

Alright, well, I'm going to drop it, I shouldn't have replied to this thread, maybe my original post was better suited for one of the other KU threads. I'm not going to apologize because I think my opinion is valid. We simply bring up KU way too often on this board.

- does cal spend time in practice on free throws
- we need to press more
- we should be playing some zone
- why does <insert kid from kentucky here> play more
- i'm a moron and dont know how google works, what channel is the game on
- <insert the name of a first round pick> needs to return for another year

I don't see this as a thread about KU. I see it as a thread about UK's top remaining recruits possibly having a horrible time on their visit, and KU just so happens to be the school they are visiting.
I'm sure if those same recruits were visiting any other school today, and said school was getting crushed in a football game like KU is, then this thread would have been made about that school instead.
