Do we put the game in the hands of Davis?

Would we be better served to feature Ray on offense? Maybe 35 plus carries and also involve him in the passing game.

Make him our main focus and supplement him with our passing game rather than the balanced approach.

Dude is a warrior and AA terrific. Old school approach. 15 carries isn’t enough. I think he’s good enough to be the spear.

UF ran the ball basically at will against them. Just looking at them, their DE are small, very quick and outstanding pass rushers. I would want to rest how good they are against the run by running right at them with power, hopefully beating them up a little and slowing down their rush.

Yes you lean on Davis…20 Carries and 5 receptions is a nice number….and you can rest him and have KSM get 7 Carries and a few passes to split up the work

You can at least have 7-10 passes off play action wjtb keeps the impact of Davis to hel the passing game.

If Leary gets 25 attempts that is close to 50/50 balance ….that is a fair gameplan to beat the Vols

RD avg. 7 yards a carry on 111 carries. The guy who leads the nation in rushing has over 150 carries. Ray can run more and we should hand him the ball more often.

You have to have some kind of passing threat, UT's defense against the run has been decent. If he can average 7 per carry of course you give it to him as much as he can handle. But if UT is stacking the box and holding him to less than 4 going to be tough going.

This should work until our DB's give up a couple of quick TD's to put us behind. Then we'll panic & switch to throwing to people with hands of stone.

I think this goes without saying for every game we play at this point. Davis is the team leader, He's this years Randall Cobb, or Lynn Bowden, or Benny Snell. (From a leadership and focal point of the offense standpoint) He's the one making up for the mistakes in other areas. He was running well early even against UGA, picking up big chunks until the stupid drive killing penalties forced us into passing situations, causing the game to get out of hand fast. So he has proven he can run on anybody. We need to study hard what Florida did defensively against them and have an offensive game like we had against Florida, but include a few more playmakers. I think Key is starting to come back around. He's made a few good catches in the past couple of games, Even if a Couple of his best long ones got called back for STUPID penalties. He's at least showing his confidence is coming back. I think Brown needs something big to happen with him to get his confidence back as well. He needs a big play of some sort. Hopefully a good chunk of the off week was spent working on eliminating those GAWD AWFUL drive killing penalties.

We will never ever play a aggressive style of defense. We will play lax cover 3 and give up the dink and dunk with 8-10 yard cushions. We know that Milton loves the deep ball and it's probably his best throw so undoubtedly the middle and underneath stuff will be wide open trying to keep their WR core from getting behind them.

To the second part of the quote I felt like the way the running game was going against FL that would be the time to practice a few shots. As a defense if your opponent has hardly thrown the ball and their RB is ripping 20 yards a carry you better believe if a team leaves safteys deep they make dumber coaching decisions than our staff. Catch them trying everything to stop that run and get a little double move on and sling that baby. But nope we want to shot play when it isn't set up. I'm not a OC by any means and they pay Coen the big bucks to do it but sometimes I think this stuff is obvious especially to a college OC with NFL experience who played QB you have to be smart to be a QB surely to God he's not as stubborn as he appears. It may work the next time, it might not work the whole year. But at some point you have to quit punching the wall and bitching about your knuckles hurting.
