While far from perfect, the 2nd half was called much more evenly than the first. To me this proves the refs knew exactly what they were doing and it was very intentional.
Yes, except for a couple of muggings on Bam and of course that absurd loose-ball foul on Willis that even the other referees questioned. Aside from those, UNC seemed to have suddenly got the foul whistle, at least right out of the gates in the 2nd half.
Yep, I'm sure the call at the half wasn't to do a better job, but rather "damn guys, try not to make it so obvious!" So they did, while still slipping in jabs when the jabs mattered most for the team they were directed to speed bump. This is when Higgins decided to keep it even, or should I say even it up. Not one time did a call go against UNC that changed momentum or stopped a run.
berry and willis going for a lose ball and willis got called for a foul was 2nd half wasn't it
that was a HUGE momentum foul
This made me laugh. And trueAny time Kennedy Meeks gets fifteen rebounds,he has to be all over someone's back.
No, he was doing a Sumo Wrestler imitation more than anything else. Get your fat ass low for leverage, then just shove guys out of the way. And honestly, the fouls on rebounds were the most infuriating thing about the first half. A lot of the other stuff I could live with. But Meeks was doing a road-grader imitation and getting called for nothing, while UK guys were getting called for being a little bit into someone's back, or trying to prevent Meeks from shoving them into the stands. That seemed to be a blatantly bad double standard.Any time Kennedy Meeks gets fifteen rebounds,he has to be all over someone's back.

I feel ya, man.I was physically yelling at my TV so much and so loud during the first half that my 4 year old son started crying and had to leave the room. I can't describe the level of pissed off I was. I know, it's only a game blah, blah, blah. But it's a game I love and played for years, I'm an alum, I was close to some players of the 95/96/97/98 run. I bleed blue. And I can be as crazy as I want to be. Also, I don't give a f@ck what anyone thinks of that.
EDIT - this was not directed at any one person.
