Long season.
Let's see what we have after another month. Give them time to get all things right. The last thing they need is undue pressure from a small segment of a sometimes unruly fan base.
The UK team mirrors my improving golf game--this journey is not anywhere close to being complete. I've learned great lessons going from a 20 handicap to single digits in four years. One is that if I don't respect each and every shot, and put complete effort mentally and physically into each one, my handicap (and score for that round) will suffer. Same with basketball. There will be ups and downs for this team. I'm confident we'll get LOTS better. I'm confident I'll routinely be breaking 80 soon instead of once in a while, but it will not be without frustration and bad rounds. Our boys should be able to experience the same consistency in time, but please don't further sabotage their effort with insipid, thoughtless posts.
Remember these things:
That NONE OF US knows a molecule's worth of basketball compared to Cal, his staff, and the players.
Not sure they completely respected two lesser opponents who have now beaten them--that likely will change.
Tyler, our leader, like everyone else, CAN and WILL play better, and we will be a better team...just you wait and see.
This team has similar potential to the 1998 team, and we all know what they accomplished. Now we know--we must give them more time than we previously thought. GBB!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
