Close game even though Kentucky is playing great, but Kentucky can't win in AF.

Says the inside game of Kansas is the difference.

Not really a surprise. I highly doubt you will find any analyst who picks UK in this game.

UK is playing well, but they are not winning at Kansas. Not after last year. Look what UCLA did, and they are far inferior!

It's hard to pick Kentucky. Don't expect many will.

I wonder, though, about the notion that the colossal ass-beating Kentucky put on them last year will be some big plus. It might also have them playing tight, and feeling like Kentucky is just not beatable, especially if the Cats hang around early. The UCLA game isn't really any big indicator. First true road game for UK, playing with a badly diminished Ulis, no Lee and other guys just learning the college game.

At UCLA was a loooong time ago and UKs 1st rd gm.
UK has now played 5 gms on the rd. And is a vastly improved squad.
Im not guaranteeing a win but I wouldnt be shocked if the Cats pull out a barn burner.
KU has lost 3 of 5.

All I ask is our guys play their hearts out - play hard and play smart. A loss at AFH isn't going to hurt us much, unless it's a complete blowout.
That being said - I think we have a better chance than I did a couple of weeks ago.

I say by 12 ( losing ) but like the other poster said, as long as UK goes in there and plays like they have been I'm cool..would love to see us win though:grimace:

The inside game of Kansas is the difference? Nevermind that Perry Ellis has always struggled against above-average athleticism, and whoever they stick in at the 5 can't contribute in any meaningful way, but the bigs of Kansas are the difference?

Ha, Dino Gaudio. I laugh at your analysis.

Look ,there's always a chance. But I would bet the farm on UK losing this game. I guess that's better than believing you're going to win and not. If they win, can they really be that proud of beating us in their place after we lost 7 players from last year and they have the same team basically. If they win at home with these circumstances id like to find a KU fan and give them a golf clap right in front of their nose.

Look, these peoples' job is to be objective and pick the winners and losers. Just because we aren't picked to win every game, doesn't make the analyst the anti-christ.
Dino has always been very complimentary of UK, calling Ulis the best PG in the country before the season even started. I have no problem at all with him picking Kansas, just want us to prove him wrong.

Well we have a chance to win, but I'm sure they will play their best game of the year against us after having been reminded and reliving the nightmare last year for 365 days. Sometimes it's better to win by a few rather than a lot because you have to play them again at their place next year. I'm still glad we beat the crap out of them last year though.

The home team has the advantage of course. However, my concern is not so much winning or losing but how we play. I would hope we don't have a step back. This team now has a legitimate chance of winning the SEC, continuing to improve and getting a good seed. If we play well then fine.

agreed - I like Dino, and understand why he would pick Kansas. That's where the smart money is. I hope we prove him wrong, as well

Haven't see one thread before your post suggesting that he was predicting anything bad. NO ONE was bashing him. Most were saying he could be correct.

He's probably right. Ellis will be a load--very effective posting up way down low and can pass out of double team. I'm sure we'll double him in the post--just don't let him catch so deep or it'll be a long night. The good news--KU guards don't always show the poise necessary, or the smarts, to give it to the right guys. KU is a bit of a problem for us down low, but that can be taken away...we'll see won't we. This will be a good test for us mentally, and win or lose, should be good experience for our young guys.

This is strange game for fans of both UK and KU. Neither side is overly confident their team is gonna win. Even the ones who normally puff out their chests are cautiously optimistic.

We are 7-4 all-time in AFH. It's very possible. Hey, eve if we do lose we still have a winning record in that building.

Dino is probably right and maybe we lose by 10+ but hopefully not from a lack of effort. KU is beatable alright and the game is pretty even on a neutral court. And we look better but I'm not sure our Cats can have success on the road, in that environment, at the present time. This is the next logical step before finishing out the SEC and prepping for March. Let's see where we stand. Play hard, play smart!

We are gonna have to expend every ounce of our energy defending well. We are not gonna win a shoot-out on their floor. I think for us to win, we need to hold them under 70.

Kanas just lost to IOWA ST. They will be ready saturday no doubt. The CATS will have to ready for a dog fight. Play your GAME! KENTUCKY might lose big deal... These games are just practice. You have to get ready for the NCAA tournament. Like CAL said a few years ago LAND THE PLANE.

I agree,it has been Kansas' backcourt that has won games with their 3 point shooting,While they are much deeper in the frontline,I think our matchup will give them fits.On a neutral court I'd pick Kentucky all day long, the only advantage Kansas has it being at home, give the Cats a fair whistle and they can win.I believe most bets will be on Kansas and that puts Vegas on UK's side, which can be a more powerful ally than Allen Fieldhouse will be for the Chokehawks, they will have a revenge factor ,but do they have enough balls to win? You can bet Calipari will have the Cats ready and they are firing on all cylinders right now,
I won't be disappointed either way,but I anticipate a win.
GO BIG BLUE !!!! GO BIG BLUE !!!! Time to kick our Kansas Bitches ass again [winking]

I've watched KU several times this season. I'm sorry I just do not see the advantage he is talking about in the front court. If KU beats us- it will be with the 3 ball and foul trouble. I think our bigs match up very well with theirs and we're actually quite a bit more athletic up front then they are. I just don't see Ellis getting off like he normally does inside. Poythress shut him down last year and I don't see that changing this year.
