Did we lose?

We looked more sloppy than anything in the first half. Ball security was an issue, one from Benny and Bowden each who are usually sure handed. 1 from Terry. Stephen had his fair share of ball security issues early too. So Terry fumble did not concern me. 1 int concerned me and a few other throws. One that comes to mind was the wheel route with king late in the fourth. Badly under thrown. But we have to get behind the team. Why some people want to sit and and bash coaches and players is beyond me. Last year we looked less than good against SMU and then came and out and beat sc at sc.

Which would be fine if we had a coach with a proven track record of more than saying “we’ll get that cleaned up” and then looking equaling bad the next week.
I didn’t realize UK played another game since yesterday. Oh they haven’t. You are predicting. Have the lotto numbers while you are at it Nostradamus?

Yes we struggled at QB. But take away Westry’s idiocy and the scoop and score and we hold them to six. Would 35-6 with a -3 TO differential make everyone sing a different tune this morning? I’m pretty sure it would. Also keep in mind that CMU is no cupcake. They’re a solid mid-major program that has been to bowl games the last for years.

He’s not predicting anything. He’s simply saying this isn’t the first time we’ve looked mediocre against a bad team. After the game, the team and coaches say “we’ll get it cleaned up,” but then when the next game comes around we still see the same problems.

Or rather, we would have lost against average competition.

I believe thats what is concerning to everyone.

Lol. UK has looked mediocre against bad teams since the 1950s. But UK has won 7 games back to back and has been to two bowl games. That hasn’t happened very often since the 1950s.

Great, so if we’ve always been mediocre we should be proud of it and celebrate it? No thanks.

Was the game sloppy? Yes, did the turnovers bother me? Yes, but despite those we outgained them 427 to 255yards in total offense. They had 118 total rushing yards and that’s with a 1000 yard rusher on their team. So despite the sloppiness and ball handling issues, the defense came to play.

Also, I think the trio of Snell, Rose and King at RB has potential to give us a similar three way threat that Snell, Boom Williams, and JoJo Kemp gave us. So I think that was a very bright spot. Nobody is mentioning the fact we had two 100 yard rushers yesterday.

Didn’t say that. But you have no idea how this season is going to turn out. Should UL shut down the season after yesterday? Should Michigan?
No they shouldn’t. Struggling against a poor team isn’t something new for UK under Stoops. We’ve done that frequently. It’s a pretty fair critique if we’re trying to be a legit SEC program.

We played like crap, looked unprepared and was in a dog fight for over half the game with CMU. Plenty to be excited about.
I prefer the seasons when Ohio U comes out the first game and beats us. Then t least we don't ahve to worry about if we will get bowl eligible

Understatement. Not only did we lose this game. The season should be called off and a coaching search underway. We should not field a team again until we have a Saban like coach! Or we could see how the season plays out and go to another bowl

If being in a dog fight with CMU for most of the game, while showing the same lack preparation, poor scheming, not being able to control a MAC LOS until they were tied and lack of discipline is good with you as long as we win a game where we should be the overwhelming favorite then I’m fine with it.

I expect a bit more 6 years in with his supposed best roster ever.

i'm in the middle on this Stoops thing. i'm thankful and happy with what he has done and brought to the program. Is he the right guy to get the program where we would like? Not sure. Maybe he is the Rich Brooks(Oregon) of UK football. Doesn't get alot of credit, but lays a solid foundation for the next guy who in turn, takes the program to the next level.

It seems many of us watched several different versions of a UK game yesterday.

I saw us do some good things,I saw us do some things I wish we could have done better.

I think we played a better team than UGA,UF or Miss St played.

Four turnovers in one half is cause for concern, but the defense played better than what we saw most of last year.

Our punter gets the ball off a little slow maybe but hang time and distance and direction have improved.

We controlled the game in the second half and didn't have to sweat out the last 7 or 8 minutes, one bad play(which never happened) wasn't going to beat us.

Are we primed for a 9 or 10 win season? Probably not and if you expect that then you are going to be disappointed. On the other hand 6 to 8 wins and a 3rd bowl trip are within reach.

Physically we look more like an SEC team than we did 2 or 3 years ago. "We supposed to be SEC" WKU said once upon a time and I believe we are.

Some of you will never be satisfied with Stoops as a coach,he isn't Saban and he isn't going to be but he isn't Mason either.

Can we compete next week and the next and the next? we have to wait a week and see. The jury is still out on what we are or are not.I don't have enough evidence to convict or acquit this team of anything yet

Our overwhelming favorite position was -17 by the spread. We won by 15 so that must be very close to what must be considered an overwhelming victory,no?

After they settled down they dominated them 28-3. The D for all intents and purposes did not give up a score. It was from the TO'd the O made. Those will be less now that the jitters is out of their system. Yeah let's just pretend those things didn't happen
