i mean, where was he going? Turkey? Bulgaria? Latvia?
Yeah well self is ass at recruiting so it all evens outFWIW, same could be said for Briscoe. Keeping guys like this is key.
Key to what? Talent over experience all day. Graham is a fine college player just like guys we used to have like him that would stay 4 years, Bradley, Sparks, Crawford, he is in their category. Good but not good enough to lead you to glory.FWIW, same could be said for Briscoe. Keeping guys like this is key.
FWIW, same could be said for Briscoe. Keeping guys like this is key.

He's a good player but he's no frank mason. It will be interesting to see what happens with duval. It seems Kansas and puke are the favorites. Wherever he goes he will want to be the man. Problem with Kansas is they have Newman coming in who is a sg and graham he can play pg but more suited for the sg position not to mention svi and Vick as well. Duval will start wherever he ends upnif he even plays college. If he chooses Kansas someone will have to sit and I don't think Newman will accept that
As for puke and duval, it's an even bigger log jam if Jackson or Allen come back. Once again duval will start but who sits? Trent is a top 5 player that has the build to play the 3, Jackson can play the pg spot but more suited as a sg, and you know the story with allen. He will be a senior and has been their pg. since I don't see him leaving it will be interesting to see what happens if duval chooses puke because he will start. The question will be, who comes off the bench? In all likelihood it will be Trent even though he's an excellent shooter and shoot start with Jackson and have allen come off the bench if duval went there because the NBA ship has sailed for allen he will be a role player and a second round pick at best when he finally leaves puke. I don't see how duval has went from having bad grades to now being offered a scholarship to duke even if he's a OAD. With his me first attitude he's in the perfect mold of a guy like Tatum. Hopefully he chooses to play overseas and it won't even matter in the end

It still doesn't change the fact that keeping seniors around is a key thing. It's one of the reasons why The 2012 team won a titleKey to what? Another Big 12 title? You'd piss all over Self if he were at UK winning SEC titles & flaming out early every year.

G Graham
G Newman
G Mykhailiuk or Vick
F Preston
F Azubuike
That's a solid contender.
Not much size inside past Preston and Azubuike, though.
They are preseason top 5 now, with a chance at the top spot depending on who comes back for UofL, UNC, and Duke.
The point is you responded to the original post like it was a shot at Cal. A solid vet returning never hurtsWell....we had 2 playing this year. So, what's your point?
2012 would've won it without Miller & that's no knock on him.
self has to keep that big 12 title streak alive. has too.
Put that trophy next to the Helms titles. He wants to extend his winning streak against Kentucky to three straight in three years too.

It is amazing that some people on here do not understand this fact.It still doesn't change the fact that keeping seniors around is a key thing. It's one of the reasons why The 2012 team won a title
Given there are no other means of extinguishing the flames, Self would appreciate your quick thinking.Key to what? Another Big 12 title? You'd piss all over Self if he were at UK winning SEC titles & flaming out early every year.
IF that was to happen, UK would still lead 22-9! Haha...what's that say about your pathetic "tradition"? 3 titles in around 120 years....f'n pathetic! He wants to extend his winning streak against Kentucky to three straight in three years too.

I thought Newman transferred to Kansas so he could play PG ?

That's a good point. Not sure this was in Newmann's plans. Top10 recruits don't sit out a whole year just to play backup the next. Kansas fans were certain Graham would go pro after this year (and I think even after last season, IIRC). Leads me to believe Newmann figured he had a clear path to run the show for a top program..

Difference is Cal would tell Briscoe that he's never going to get drafted so get to d-league & get to work.
Self will hold out false hopes to Graham that he'll be a lottery pick if he returns. Self cares about Self, Cal cares about his players.
