Devin Booker Has Huge Night Against Rockets

Not sure he needed it but why dont you ask the twins and Dakari how leavin worked out...doin what everybody else does isnt always the best decision

Shooting stroke is looking good. He still needs to work on driving harder to the basket so that he can get a good stop and pop aspect to his game, since I really don't think he will never be able to play at the rim in the NBA. Every one of those layups/bunnies would land in someone's popcorn if they were taken during a regular season game.

But, all in all, not bad at all for a rookie preseason game.

Looks like he did pretty much all of that in the 4th quarter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I think he pretty much led them to the comeback win in that game.

I still say that if Tyler and Devin would have been the starting guards last year we win the title. I loved the Twins but there wasn't a game all season when both was playing good ball together. The game was much more fluid with Devin and Tyler in the game at guards.

The twins and Dakari weren't going to wake up one morning during this season and suddenly become much more athletic. They are what they are, and another year wasn't going to change their draft stock. Ulis isn't going to have a growth spurt and he'll likely go pro at the end of the season with many people saying "if he only stayed one or two more years....." Tired old argument.

we were 38-0 with the twins starting. unc and others play "fluid" basketball, what did they win?
we lost to wisky because we got zero from WCS and Dakari and little from Lyes.

I am not worried about this kids offense, but his defense will have to get much better.

Booker will surprise a lot of people in the next few years. He will never be the type that can play above the rim, but he can get up better than many think. With his shooting alone he will stick in the NBA. He's a good kid so I hope he sticks in the NBA for many years to come.

I enjoy seeing Booker dropping huge numbers in the NBA. Also enjoy seeing Harrell getting scorched so many times.

Hahaha. Very, very shocking that he was out of position to switch/help on a lot of those breaks to the basket.

Don't the Rockets run a matchup zone? I hear all the good pro teams are doing it nowadays.

that hesitation drive with the behind the back was a real pro move, dang. he is underrated at slashing you could tell at UK because him sitting on the outside is what we wanted to keep the passing lanes open to the post. he showed good decision making in some of those double teams. just an exhibition, and a shoutout at that, but he really has the skill set and body type to be a good nba two guard some day. you could see that even before he came to kentucky. thanks for posting.

Looks great and will be, but I bet he wonders where all the fans are, that arena looked empty.

Yeah I agree with that but if you couldn't watch the games and see that the offense stalled and movement wasn't nearly as good when the twins was in the game. I liked them as much as anyone but stats doesn't lie. I seen someone post that when Tyler was in the game as starting point guard the point differential was the highest of any single player on the team. That means they was outscoring other teams at a far greater rate than when any other player was in the game. I appreciate what they did here but I still beleive we was a better team with Tyler in the game and Devin played better all year that Aaron.

you must have missed the 2nd half of the year where booker shot like crap from the floor.

Booker hit the freshman wall last year. I don't know people act like he was the same player in March as he was in January. He shot 29% from 3 from February on.

To be fair, Aaron Harrison shot like crap from the floor for 2 years, minus those clutch shots in the tourney.
true but he also had some clutch threes at some of our home games. including one that kept our three point streak intact. a couple others too that when he hit you knew the game was then over.

I could have sworn I heard some squawking that Harrell was without a doubt, the top PF in the class, and should have been a lottery pick. Guy can't even get into position on defense.
Also could have sworn that I heard multitudes of Louisville fans saying that he's going to come in and steal Terrence Jones' job.

Starter: Terrence Jones (22:22 MIN) 23 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 TO, 1 PF
Backup: Montrezl Harrell (24:30 MIN) 8 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 TO, 5 PF

It's hilarious that they thought Montrezl Harrell was better than Terrence Jones. I just want to see Harrell get destroyed by AD and Boogie though, then I'll be very satisfied.

For those of you who want to see Harrell against AD, the Rockets play the Pelicans on Monday.

Did you see what Aaron shot for the whole year? He had a sub par year the beginning to end and his shooting percentages was way down from the previous. Andrew played better his sophomore year but the offense stalled with the ball in his hands.

i'm just saying...fans fell in love with ulis and booker mostly because they werent the twins....not because of what they actually did on the court.
