Deone Walker declares for NFL draft

Best of luck to the young man for sure. That said, he better hope like hell he changes his attitude/motor when things aren’t going well. He was largely nonexistent this year.
Disagree with that assessment. I never heard a credible bad word about his attitude. If it looked like he was sometimes without a motor, look at his position and his size. It's an exhausting and grueling job.

Not trying to argue, but many announcers or pundits said he was known to take plays off.

Especially with 2 300+ pounders hanging on each shoulder. I'm amazed at the constant cheap shots taken at UK players by people here who supposedly are UK fans.

Yep, and here's a guy who left us early for the right reason, for the draft, instead of shitting on us while at Tennessee like a couple of others surely will.

In fairness, most of our transfers will be in the Sun Belt to get more playing time, good for them, too.

I watched him specifically for the entire first half of the Louisville game. Dude mailed it in. I’m sure he was just done at that point, but still man, gotta give effort for nothing more than to avoid injury.

With that being said…I wish him all the best. He’s been a great player and will do well at the next level. He’s been a great ambassador for our program as a player. He could have easily left for greener pastures. I will certainly follow his progress at the next level. I’m sure he’ll get drafted pretty high.

He was not good this year IMO. I think he knew he was going to the NFL after this season so he just kind of mailed it in to not get himself hurt (which in a way is understandable...but you still have to give some effort) But I think he will develop into a star in the NFL.

I most certainly was not trying to throw a cheap shot at the big guy. That said his effort/play left a lot to be desired this year. I understand he was doubled a lot but the eyes can see when max effort is given. This year, sadly, I just didn’t see it.

Meh, he has put in his time so I give him a pass on this garbage can of a season. It was obvious his teammates were done so why should he injure himself trying? Hope he gets drafted high and early.

Knowing what I know now about life there is zero effing way I would risk being injured if I thought I was about to get paid millions. That kind of money can last you for life if you are smart about it.

I think he was beat up more than we know. He did miss and/ or was questionable for a couple games. Started great
