I think it can certainly define Towles, but only if he does poorly. This is a make a break type game for Towles. If he goes out and does well and leads us to a win then he likely gets to keep his starting position. However, if he struggles in the game then you may see the staff making a move towards Barker. They could do that in the Missouri game, or they may wait and give Barker the full week of practice for the EKU game. Having the EKU game right behind this one is something that should greatly motivate Towles. If he struggles then the door becomes pretty wide open for Barker to, at the very least, show what he can do against EKU. They could essentially have a second tryout. However, Towles can lay a lot of that doubt to rest by closing that door in the Missouri game. Won't mean that he is off the proverbial chopping block or mean that he is going to lead us to glory, but it will at least not negatively define him.
