That's the last instance where I remember 3 highly skilled and interchangeable guards working together in unison at a high level.

And if we land Malik Newman to go along with Tyler Ulis, and Isaiah Briscoe could be that for us.

It's an exciting brand of basketball. And really opens things up.

I can't wait until next season!

How about Jerian Grant, D. Jackson, and Pat C this year? They were pretty damn good for ND. Hope we run a similar offense w TU, MN, and IB. GBB

Pat C is a hell of a rebounder, not sure any of our three added together will come close to his production on the boards.

I've been thinking about this a lot, a whole lot! ;)

Seriously though its sad to see the twins and booker leave, but we may be much better off at guard next year. I'll take Ulis, Briscoe, Newman over Ulis, Harrison, Harrison any day! Then you add in Hawkins as a possible player and we're looking pretty salty.

If we land another big we're set at the 4/5. And if we don't and another wing we split Poy's minutes at 3 and 4 with the rest of the 3 minutes going to the guards.

In order for that comparison to hold water, Briscoe will have to shoot at a high clip.

The trick for the '05 Illini team was spacing and the ability to shoot among all three guards. It could happen. Briscoe is a stud.

Bledsoe is/was a bad dude....we never saw his full game....would be awesome if briscoe is close to EB.

From what briscoe has shown on the big stage, he shoots it just fine. I personaly think he will be what people are wanting from Newman.

Unless Poy has improved on his ball handling I don't see playing the 3 he is a small 4 in collage. Mathews could see some at the 3.

That was one hell of a trio or ILL..3 guys that averaged 16 assist between them shot the 3pter at a collective 38%. I could see Briscoe at 35% or im hoping thats the case.
