De'Aaron Fox says a Kentucky team could beat the GS Warriors

C. Demarcus Cousins - Zaza Pachulia
PF. Anthony Davis - Draymond Green
SF. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - Kevin Durant
SG. Devin Booker - Klay Thompson
PG. John Wall - Steph Curry
6. Karl Anthony-Towns - David West
7. Eric Bledsoe - Andre Iguodala
8. Brandon Knight - Shaun Livingston
9. Julius Randle - Kevin Looney
10. Nerlens Noel - Javale McGee
11. Jamaal Murray - Ian Clark
12. Terrence Jones - James Michael-McAdoo
13. Enes Kanter - Damian Jones
14. Patrick Patterson - Matt Barnes
15. Rajon Rondo - Patrick McCaw

Starting 5: Boogie, AD, MKG, Booker, Wall

Bench: KAT, Randle, WCS, Bledsoe, Monk/Murray, Fox/Rondo, Ulis, Jones, PPat, Noel

I'll take those 15 vs anybody. They don't have a weakness. An exhibition at Rupp would be insane.

I forgot about WCS. There's too many to keep track of these days :)

Ulis, Lyles, Skal, Monk, Fox, Bam, Rondo, Meeks, Patterson...there would be a lot of former players that would get cut/move up to make the all UK team over the next few years (and that's not counting the recruits we have now lol)

It's a testament to how good the warriors are that people feel the need to put together ridiculous collections of talent to beat them.

That being said, the fact that this particular collection is all UK players is an amazing example of what Cal has done here in the last 8 years.

We have this similar thread about every 6 months.

I think Towns, Davis, Cousins are interchangeable. Might go with Cousins coming off the bench so the punk Green doesn't get in his head. Although I could see starting Cousins to try & get into Green's head.
He might not be one of the top 15 (or maybe he is), but I would want Ulis on the team, to help defend Curry.
As we all know SF would be our weakness. Versus GS we could consider going w/ the 3 bigs, & letting Davis try & guard Durant at least taking away one advantage he has over most other SF.

Having been to see Cousins play this past season, and watching him still cry to refs while the play is going the other way or get into yelling and cussing with heckler fans, I don't want to count on the guy. Always hoped he'd grow up. He didn't.

Even if a UK team couldn't pull it off I imagine the ticket scalpers would be very happy.:)

UK would get crushed. Klay would abuse Booker and MKG can't stop KD no matter how good he is defensively. KD would just elevate and shoot over him.

Cuz would get into Green's head. Don't doubt that.

Ha ha ha...Cuz is a lot more mature with what counts than most can conceive...

You must be thinking of a team with a "d" and an "e" on both sides of "UK"

But really, those two positions are the only ones in question imo. Nobody in the NBA can stop Durant and he's going to get his. Thompson is better than Booker right now, but Booker is young and still improving. Wall and Curry would both get theirs. UK has a huge advantage in the front court and on the bench. The Warriors could win but I don't think UK would get "crushed".

Don't get me wrong, I love what he does off the court. He's charitable, he cares about his community, he is never in trouble in any way. But he can't control his emotions on the court and it affects the game.

At least after the next couple of seasons we will have more of a variety to choose from at SF. It's been our main weakness In the pro ranks.

I honestly don't think Fox is that far off. Trying to not be a homer but....

GS would have no answer for Davis, Boogie or Towns.

Wall would blow by Curry often. The only weakness has already been mentioned: Booker would get killed by Thompson (on both ends) and KD would still get his.

To the random Duke poster: how well would an all Duke team fair against GS? Or even against an all UK team?

Would this be their starting five?

Irving
Redick
Ingram/Winslow
Parker
Plumlee XXII

?

Duke has the second most players in the league but Texas has the next best lineup.

Cory Joseph
Avery Bradley
Kevin Durant
LaMarcus Aldridge
Myles Turner

With DJ Augustine, Tristan Thompson, PJ Tucker off the bench.

The UK guys should win, but that's a hell of a team.

I think it would make sense using size in TRYING to disrupt the GSW top scorers. Perhaps Davis/WCS/Noel checking Durant, MKG/Wall/Andrew guarding Curry and let's say WCS/Bam/Lyles shading Thompson. Although Ulis' quickness could give Curry fits also at times. I guess it's a question of stopping a team that shares and scores almost at will vs. basically an all-star team.

Maybe...

How about

Kat or Cuz
Davis
WCS
Booker
Wall

Put Big Willie on Durant and see if he can slow him down a bit and AD can be the 3 on offense. Something funky like that might have a chance today but probably the three shooting and making 2 guards need to be a bit more mature and play a bit of D before it would work out.

WCS would be a hindrance imo , Durant would eat him alive and he still needs work on his offensive
Game

I'd go with AD on Durant.

That's a horrible matchup. As good as Davis is, you don't want him on the perimeter fighting through picks and having to defend out to 25 feet all game long. That takes away from his strength, which is being able to roam and protect the basket.
