I saw a tweet about this - kid is a BEAST!

Anyone have highlights from his game last night?

It's very possible that Cal is going to go from having his worst rebounding team at UK this year to having his best next season. Bam and Wenyen Gabriel consistently put up huge rebounding numbers (and rebounding usually translates well into college), as does Fox for a guard.

I mean that's good and all, but he has work to do if he is going to come in here and take a senior Hawkins minutes. Hawkins is from Kentucky too.

Agree, Hawkins is going to be hard to keep off the floor next year. I would even venture to say that if Murray doesn't pick his game up then our new 3 guard lineup may include some DOM

Not to disrespect Hawkins, but he is not anywhere close to the caliber of Murray or Fox.

Yeah, but if he comes to UK and averages 12 PPG he'll be another bust

What a joke?
Lol I don't think that was a joke. I think he was thinking college basketball circa 2000 when the upperclassman played while the freshman saw garbage minutes. Don't get me wrong, I love watching UK guys play and play well. Problem is none of them are good enough to play a whole lot. I do see a future for Hawkins/Willis overseas if they want

No it was a joke. My posting history proves it. It is a spin off from the Derek Willis thread

This isn't last night but one of the fun Fox mixtapes.

That is why I didn't comment. The sarcasm was very clear in your post.

Fox and Monk are going to be dynamic - I will venture to say better than Wall/Bledsoe - as far as their one year of college goes. That is a big comparison I realize but Monk is a better shooter than either Wall or Bledsoe were in college and Fox maybe a better scorer than either of them - or atleast on par. Hard to say anyone is as athletic as Wall, but Fox is not far behind. Regardless - they will make for a very exciting backcourt with many highlight reel plays.

all these shooting coaches....all these kids who cant shoot. big time bucks being missed. shame. all that knowledge just wasted.

In 2015. Monk hit .310 percent of his three-point shots on the very tough
22-game Nike circuit playing against the best. Not amazing but not horrible. The kid is a triple threat. I find it slightly amusing folks are already criticizing him before he gets here.

not just regular folks...people here watch videos. so they know more.

I think you can clearly tell from youtube video's that he's the worst player named De'aaron Fox that we've ever recruited.

Also, I find his walk offensive.

This team isn't rebounding that badly so far. Much better than '11 or '13. Of course there is lots of season to be played so it could swing either way.

In '11 and '13, our rebounding rate ranked in the 50s. We are ranked 22nd currently, and we dropped precipitously following the UCLA loss. Arguably, that game skewed us to the negative because of Lee being out and Poy's foul trouble.

The rebounding numbers are better than you would think, but UK has played a big portion of their cupcake games. In the 2 games against teams that recruit the same caliber of athlete that UK does, rebounding has been an issue.

We'll see how it goes.

I agree, it's too early to tell. A healthy Lee and Poy rebound well. Skal is below average at best. Briscoe is great for his size.

If Skal would fight enough to be even average we should be ok. Maybe a big if.
