Figured he'd pop back up before long.
Very good coach, took his lumps at bama but that's a tough road for most. Probably should have stayed at VCU and ridden that mid major gravy train.
Really good hire by Dayton from a resume, experience, and name recognition standpoint. I think he will do well there and be a perennial tourney coach that can advance a game or two.

Yeah, way to put words in my mouth. How you could have reached the conclusion that I would prefer Crean is beyond me. I just actually live in Dayton and follow the Flyers and Raiders, so I have an opinion on the matter. That alright with you bud?
I think the Flyers would have been better served with an up and comer like Archie was. Not someone who has had their shot as a P5 head coach and failed.
But he didn't fail at VCU. He couldn't recruit well enough at Bama but he is a good coach.
I agree he's a decent coach, but his best year at VCU was his first. A team where he got to take over Jeff Capel's talent.
Next year is going to be a major rebuilding season for Dayton and I just don't have a whole lot of confidence in Grant's program building ability.
WTH has Capel done besides send dook into a tail-spin or his 1 year at OK? Give the man a chance or maybe you should stop watching. I really could give less than a damn what happens at Dayton!

Well, I hate to break this news, but being able to recruit is the most important job of the Coach.
