Final
Just who is the best SEC team right now? I thought Vandy was but after tonight gonna say LSU. I know they lost some games but wow they have ball players.
LSU? No, three losses (unless they've lost again lately). They may have the best player in the NCAA but they have what I believe to be the absolute worst coach.Just who is the best SEC team right now? I thought Vandy was but after tonight gonna say LSU. That Vandy big is out with a knee injury and wont be ready v UK at Rupp.
That equals an L for the Dores.
Purdue will beat the crap out of Vandy, they are a good team, maybe the best front court in the country.I was on Vandys band wagon early and they are decent but have played 3 decent teams and lost all three. They still have a road trip to Purdue in December.
To be somewhat fair to LSU, they are missing Keith Hornsby.
Vandy was missing Luke Kornet, who is not just their "big". He's as important to Vandy as missing Ulis was to us.
Dayton is a very good team . So if Vandy but they are missing their 7 footer for a month so they will lose a few. When it is all said and done I think the SEC top 7 will end like this by season's end
1 UK 16-2
2.Texas A&M 13-5
3.Vandy 13-5
4.USC 12-6
6.UF 11-7
7.LSU 10-8
the first 6 get bids to the tourney but UF has to play in one of the play in games ...

You think UK is going to skate through the SEC with only 2 losses?Dayton is a very good team . So if Vandy but they are missing their 7 footer for a month so they will lose a few. When it is all said and done I think the SEC top 7 will end like this by season's end

....that's just the way it is......Missing Hornsby you say...may be hard for them to find "the range"
No Kornet, right? Still, if they are SOOO GOOD as Jay "Both hands on the wheel" Williams says they are, they should be able to make adjustments.
Further, maybe they just weren't that good to begin with. I wouldn't put it past analysts to frantically anoint ANY team besides UK as the future of the SEC. Either way, lessens that Kansas win any way you look at it.
So we lose Lee, and we lose a game, why doesn't that same notion apply to Kentucky? Keep in mind while we have more talent, we also played UCLA, not Dayton..
Not aiming this at you.. but it is a general notion around here and the media. I get that we're Kentucky and we should rarely lose a game. But when we lost to UCLA, that was not only a young team, but a team that barely played together. Then they lose Lee and everyone has to adjust, just as they were becoming cohesive.
they might be better than vu too, after they get dyshon pierre, their leading scorer from last year, back next month after a suspension. dayton will probably win the a10 and will be a tough team in the tournament.Dayton is better than UCLA.
Not only is Dayton no where close to the UCLA team that played Kentucky, they aren't even better than UCLA when the Bruins play normal.
UCLA has more talent and a harder schedule so far. Really don't care that Dayton has 1 less loss.
For whatever reason, Googles quick look doesn't show their early two games. 3 losses does change things a bit.
But those rankings are still real early.. Wisconsin and Valpo are both higher than Dayton. Not sure on that.
Either way, UCLA had to have the game of their life against Kentucky. Dayton is not better than THAT version of UCLA.
