Dawson said UK has the most depth he's had at any stop as a coach. Stoops: "You've been blessed to not be here the first two years."

LOL that's good stuff....In a short time frame CMS has built some depth that we have not seen in some time.

Stoops inherited a real dumpster fire when he hired in. It was almost like a team on probation but thankfully without the scholarship reductions.

The trendline since his hire has been very positive.

The depth is young and inexperienced but we have experienced starters at probably 20 of 22 spots on the field. I like that Dawson isn't downplaying his hand. It shows confidence. He could very easily do the "ah shucks, we got some talent but I don't know about xy and Z ". I'm getting more excited about the O as the summer goes on.

This O has the tools to put up video game type numbers over the next couple of years with Towles, Boom, and this crop of WRs/TEs. Just need the OL to be adequate enough. If they show out to be a force, it could be scary fun to watch.

I agree.

I can't help but think that is because Coach Dawson has never coached in the SEC. He's going to receive quite the education when September rolls around. Thankfully he has more to work with than he did when CMS arrived.

I thought Dawson coached against Alabama last year with WVU.

I meant coach against SEC teams week in and week out, but yes he was the offensive coordinator at WVU when they played Alabama. Though he didn't call plays, and though his role is going to be dramatically expanded at UK where he will be entirely in charge of the offense, he deserves a lot of the credit for their offense. I didn't say he wouldn't be able to do a good job as OC, I said that what he sees as good depth isn't as good in the SEC as it would be in a different conference.

It's young depth at this stage, but it's such an incredible change. I think it will pay off big this year, and more in years to come.
