Darius West and how many can we sign

Since West did not enroll this past fall can sign an additional recruit if one becomes available that is worthy if a scholly?

I know we are limited to 25 every year but that number can change by how many we enrolled the previous year. If West did not enroll can we sign an additional recruit to put that number at 26?

The issue is not the limit of 25 this year, but the overall limit of 85...

West enrolled and had surgery for his leg. He is reportedly still on the team and doing well. Edwards didn't enroll until later and missed the season due to unexplained reasons. He did need and had shoulder surgery at UK but has not practiced with the team yet. He is reportedly still in school but I don't know his playing status. Neither scholarship is free at this point.

Genericaly speaking if a player signs an LOI it counts against the 25, regardless if he enrolls or not.

Oh ok.
I remember their was some debate on here on why he hadn't, many rumors were saying his grades wasn't up to par and will have to sit out this year. Then the story about his injury and many were sayin he was going to grey shirt so he wouldn't lose a year. I remember reading a lot of theories and assumed that he never enrolled and joined the team.
Thanks for clarifying that he had enrolled and practiced with the team.
Anybody have any practice reports? I don't remember reason anything about how he was doing in practices.

I believe Stoops said Edwards was now also on the team, and may be okay to practice in the spring. Just a hunch that there were some academic issues, that have now been cleared up after a semester of college courses.

I would think both West and Edwards will add depth to CB and Safety this fall. Quality depth (tho young obviously).

Ok Edwards then, I knew we had one our 4 star guys not make this year.
So how does this effect the scholly list? Nothing?

They are both in school and red shirting. Both had surgeriy at UK for injuries suffered in HS. Both scholarships are being used. Is this not clear or am I on some type of ignore status?

You are always limited by 25 per year unless you sign less the year before and then you can count the early Jan enrollees back to fill up that 25. Thus, forgetting the 85, if you signed 20 last year then you could sign up to 30 this year as long as 5 were early enrolleees.

Neither West nor Edwards changes the number of kids we can sign in this class.
