Dajuan Wagner's stepson joins UK team

Love this move. Usually it’s an assistant coach that’s hired or on staff like with Cade Cunningham. This gives us that type of advantage in DJ’s recruitment and doubles as a practice player who can hopefully be competitive

If D.J. goes to college, then it’s guaranteed where he is going; I don’t think you’ll ever see a college recruitment more certain than this.

But, if he proves he’s worthy of making the jump straight to the NBA, then it would become more complicated. Knowing Cal, he would tell the young man to go straight to the league if he’s ready.

I’m hopeful we get him for a single-season, but I won’t be surprised if he elects for the pro-option.

Nonetheless, Dajuan Wagner is an incredible asset to have for our program.

Couldn’t agree more. The only question is will he skip college?

Certainly doesn’t hurt with DJ, but I don’t think Kentucky could be any more of a guarantee than they already are with him. It’s just a matter of pro or Kentucky.

Yes, exactly this ^^ !

I just don't think you bring this kid on unless you know you got DJ Wagner. Now, that could change, things happen. But no, you don't take this walk on for nothing. I'd say that as of now, at least until the G-League comes calling, Wagner is ours. At the end of the day, this is still a business.

He’s a walk on. Doesn’t matter at all. Doesn’t take up a scholly. Can have 50 of them. Wouldn’t matter. Like to get more and run the JV team again.

hopefully since Dejuan knows how hard it is to make it in the NBA even after one year, he will get him to come for one year.
