Curious about jersey numbers

During last night's game with Missouri, I noticed that Connor Vanover, the 7'5" center, wore #75 on his jersey. I thought high school and college basketball jerseys had to be numbers 0-5. I don't remember ever seeing any one wearing a jersey without numbers 0-1-2-3-4-5. Did Vanover get a special waiver for him to wear number 75?

The jersey number rule was changed a few years ago, so now they can wear any number below 100

They changed the rule in college basketball this season. First time since the 50's that players can wear any number between 0-99.

I know Bronny James took #6 this year to match his dads number.

I thought the same last night, OP. I didn’t know they changed the rule either.

Remember Oscar wanted to wear the number 9 and couldn't but this year a player can.
