I wouldn't say 100% since we've been in this situation before with dudes like newman, diallo, and even kennard.!m hoping he comes here. But it don't want to get overly excited we all know how the crystal ball always plays out and it's not always great
I really hope soI don't think we were ever 100% for those guys you mentioned...maybe 90% for Newman at one time, were never that high for Diallo (although people here assumed the Slice hire would have sealed the deal).
This guy is a lock.
He is fresh off an official visit to Kansas for its midnight madness event Late Night in the Phog, after which, the lone holdout on Fox's Crystal Ball, Jayhawks insider Matt Scott, changed his prediction from Kansas to Kentucky.
I really hope so
Speaking of Crystal Balls. KU used to lead for Ferguson, Fox, Bolden AND Schnider Herard. And in most cases had recruited those 4 WAY BEFORE the schools now favored by those recruits (or in the case of Ferguson where he chose in Alabama).
Now they lead for ZERO 2016 recruits. I think Mitch Lightfoot (who's barely Top 150) is the one closest & the picks right now are for Arizona @ 29%...KU tied for 2nd at 21%.
I still have an EXTREMELY hard time envisioning Herard stiffing KU for Mississippi State (who the Crystal Ball has leading now 43% - 29%)...honestly, I think that's downright asinine!!!
It would be analogous to a considering-Kentucky recruit thinking that maybe Texas Tech is the school for him.....ridiculous.
How nice that the Crystal Ball is now telling us what we have known here for at least a month.

Is Bill Self losing his touch? If so, what has changed?Speaking of Crystal Balls. KU used to lead for Ferguson, Fox, Bolden AND Schnider Herard. And in most cases had recruited those 4 WAY BEFORE the schools now favored by those recruits (or in the case of Ferguson where he chose in Alabama).

I think it's the world of basketball that has changed. Is Bill Self losing his touch? If so, what has changed?
They likely lost the Pump brothers a few years ago as well. I wonder if the UNC*** scandal has had an impact on them as well.I think it's the world of basketball that has changed.
Kids used to be like, "Gee I wish I could win a Big 12 Title then flame out!!!"
But now some are starting to think about the NBA.
where did all the KU fans go? was looking forward to hear how "KU is in better shape than most know" and "something 'changed' last minute.
I'm hesitant to call anyone a "lock". Kobi Simmons and Miles Bridges seemed like UK locks and Fox seemed like a long-shot just a couple of months ago. Now the script is completely reversed. Recruiting is a fickle subject and opinions and allegiances can change on a dime. I'm not going to get excited until he makes the commitment official.
I wondered how long it would take someone to mention this. Because you're right- it hardly seems coincidental that KU suddenly seems to be struggling with recruiting less than 6 months after Cliff Alexander went undrafted. And honestly, Kelly Oubre didn't really do much for his draft stock, although at least he didn't see it plummet down through the basement.Three words: "Cliff Alexander backlash".....word on the street is that AAU coaches are now counseling their heralded prospects that Bill Self isn't the best at handling OAD prospects. When he took away Cliff Alexander's playing time last season which in conjunction with the NCAA suspension resulted in a consensus top 10 prospect going undrafted he took his own reputation for coaching OAD's out at the knee's. It may not be fair Perry Ellis, Landen Lucas, and Jamari Traylor may have deserved to play more than Alexander I wasn't at Kansas's practices last year but it's definitely killing his recruiting.
