Cousins double-double

I don’t really understand why these older guys keep playing in other locales once they are no longer able to keep up with the NBA. They’ve made a ton of money. Retire. Take up golf and scuba diving. Relax and enjoy.

Cousins can still play. He'd probably be the 3rd or 4th best center in the league. Seems he has burned a cross or two too many though so we shouldn't expect to see him back in the league.

They love the game. It's all they've known.

Additionally, he's probably trying to show the NBA he's still an asset. Can't do that playing golf.

I bet if a lot of the older guys, lets say over 40, if they had a chance to play in a Senior style league sponsored by the NBA there would be enough of them to do a 15-16 team league. Those guys live and breathe basketball. The money is great, but for the best, it's about much more than that.

They both should be in the league. I think it’s politics, imo.
I understand Wall a little more just because he can't shoot and the league prioritizes that now. He's lost a step on speed on top of that.

Boogie can still be a stretch big or bully. Whatever is needed of him. He always had the modern big skill set.

Cousins is only 33. You'd think he's 39 the way his career has gone downhill. What in the world did this guy do to get completely black balled by the NBA?

No. Their legs are just shot.

It was painful watching guys just drive right by Wall in his final season with clips. That uber-elite speed and explosiveness that had made him so special was all gone.

Tore his achilles then 2 years later tore his ACL. Never was the same, lost quickness and became more a defensive liability outside the post. Probably also an element of teams being willing to put up with his immaturity and antics when he's playing really well, but not when he's an ok backup. You want a locker room leader, veteran presence in a guy like that and Cousins never really got in control of his emotions.

This is utter nonsense. If he were anywhere even remotely near still that good, don’t you think he’d be playing in one of the better international leagues in Europe or China where the money is far better?

But instead he’s been playing in the Puerto Rico and Taiwan leagues, which are considered lower rung even by international standards.
