Could Gator Bowl wind up being FSU v Kentucky?

I think this would be best case scenario for UK.

That would be a great bowl game. SEC has so many teams ahead of UK this year. SEC East - Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. West - Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Miss. State, So, UK is either 7th or 8th best this year with Miss. State win possibly pushing them to 7th? Georgia - playoff, Alabama - Sugar, Tennessee - Orange, LSU - Citrus, South Carolina - Tampa Bay, Ole Miss - Tax Slayer, Miss. State - Texas, Music City - Kentucky.

I would think Ole Miss to Texas is better (more money than other bowls) Kentucky to Gator (lower payout of the three) and Miss. State to Music City because of matchups and fan support for each bowl.

However, the last 3 could shuffle between Ole Miss, Miss State and Kentucky. All three bowls are pretty equal financially and travel to all is good for all three schools.

With the fizzle of this season it would be a win if they could end up playing an fsu or nd type team in any bowl from an interest standpoint. Having a first round qb may help with us being able to ‘play up’ a bowl level from what we probably deserve.

I think playing Notre Dame would convince Levis to play a Bowl game.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but the only folks happy with that matchup would be UK fans. Don’t think a 7-5 UK team is going to excite other programs or anybody nationally. I’d love it though.

Other than our athletic director I doubt anybody is worried about a basketball game in December between a ranked UK and one of the worst college teams in the nation . I doubt UL fans will even show up and TV audiences surely will not watch .

Doubt you’re gonna mobilize bbn this year to travel to texas or Vegas in light of the season we just put up. McB is probably best bet if they want to see bbn show up

Wait a minute. Are we saying that UK CANNOT play in a post-season FB bowl game if there is a conflict with a regular season BB game?

Who made such a prohibition? I doubt that it is centralized at the NCAA or conference level; otherwise, dozens of bowl games and/or BB games would be impacted.

If this is UK's AD vetoing bowl games in favor of non-conference/regular season BB games, he needs to be fired.

I agree, NO WAY they will put UK in the MCB bowl since it conflicts with the UK UL Basketball game, no way, no how, won’t happen., 100% not.
