Every year they get benefit of the doubt...they lose 6-9 games and you look up and they are still in top 15. I would argue that 2 beatings to Iowa and home loss to Nebraska...let me repeat Nebraska...by far trumps are losses to Buckeyes and Auburn

Its excatly why your seeing Izzo go after "mercenaries" in this years class. Hasnt had OAD talent or guys that can win him a FF game in years...

Well they made a F4 run last year, and many of the pieces are back. They knocked off UL along the way. That's all good right? And Izzo is a likeable guy and good coach. Maybe not the best, but good. They could be dangerous team come March. Of course this year so could 20-30 other teams.

You mean like Cal making 4 of 5 final fours? Cal doesn't get the same treatment, imo.
I think Cal's face is on ESPN far more than Izzo's is. I lived in Lansing until last August, I still spend a lot of time in Michigan yet I still hear more sbout Cal and UK than Izzo and MSU. Unless I missed something today. Was Izzo on ESPN today or something? They could put him on there all day long for weeks and it still wouldn't equal the amount of time Cal has had on ESPN.

Since when is Izzo " a like able guy"?

It's kind of well known he's a prick.

Uh, I was responding to the post that said izzo's teams perform at tournament time. Merely pointed out that Cal's teams have done pretty well too. Not sure what you're responding to.

Why is it so hard to believe that a 6-9 loss team could still be in the top 15? I don't get your complaint. It depends on when they lost those games. MSU always plays a tough non conference schedule and they usually drop a few early so it's not far fetched to believe that they could climb back into the top 15 in January, February or March.
Besides that, they don't have 6 losses, they have 4 IIRC and besides, they just lost to Nebraska last night, they don't redo the rankings every day. You know that right? They're currently ranked 11th. That ranking was put on them when they only had 3 losses. Why is that so hard to believe? If it was Duke they would still be in the top 8 easily.
Not to mention the simple fact that everyone is losing games right now. Teams like MSU can't drop too far when the teams behind them keep losing.
I think they drop to 18 or 19 when the new polls come out. That's IF they win this weekend.

Maybe I misunderstood, you said Cal doesn't get the same treatment. My bad.

3 losses in a row and 2 at home. I bet they drop no farther than 16 next week. On the other hand every time we lose we drop 8 or 9 spots even though we haven't dropped a single home game.
