That guy could really pick it at 3rd base. Congratulations on a Hall of Fame career, Scott.

Also, I would bet he was one of the nicest people to ever play the game. Very nice guy.

Was runner up Mr Basketball in Indiana and recruited by UK for basketball.

Was runner up Mr Basketball in Indiana and recruited by UK for basketball.

Told the story last night on the postgame show that he would have committed to UK had Pitino not offered Jeff Sheppard and accept the scholarship 1st. Committed to Georgia but wound up going to the MLB Draft anyway. Saw him play multiple times at Great American Ballpark as a St. Louis Cardinal and while playing for the Reds. My Father and I were in the park the night he hit his 300th career home run. The error in the 10th inning of Game 3 of the 2012 NLDS vs the Giants still haunts me.

Was always a big fan of Scott Rolen. Glad to see him get in the HOF. Now, I just need to get up to Cooperstown to visit.
