I think Toppin will stick in the NBA. Amazing to be picked up by the same team his brother is on (I mean can you imagine).

One of my favorite players who had his struggles but played through them and was great towards the end of the season. His Providence game was unreal. Happy for this kid, will miss watching him fly all around the court.

Thanks for everything Jacob!

I'm a Jacob fan too and think he was one of the big misses by these teams on draft day for sure. I can think of at least 25 of those names taken on day one I'd trade for him and his future.

Toppin was solid but he wasn't the vast improvement over Brooks so many were touting before last season. He never put it together to the level needed.

He also played poorly against KSU when we needed him to play better with reeves bad game.

Best of luck to him though and hope he makes it.

He can carve out a niche.

He grabbed 6.8 rebounds last year even with Oscar taking 13.7 of them a game. In this new NBA he can adequately defend against guards, perimeter players, and most bigs because of his athletic ability. It's up to him now. Developing his offensive game further is probably the thing that separates him from making a rotation in the next few years. Might have to pay his dues in the G-League or overseas for a while in doing so. Time will obviously tell.

Always liked Toppin. I feel like he was incredibly close to putting it all together and being an elite player, but just never quite got

after the first 10-12 picks, this seemed like a really weak draft! Toppin could wind up as valuable as anyone taken in the latter part of the first round!

If he ever gets that fade away out of his jumper he could be pretty good. He’s got the physical tools to make a team. Hope he continues to improve. I wish he could have been a solid bench player again. That was a heck of a role for him 2 years ago.

Always liked Toppin as a player, I think he had gone as far as he could here. Hope he sticks in the NBA for a while. Maybe wins the dunk contest

He's got all the tools. My theory: if he came along 40 years ago when the mentality of kids was tougher, he could have been moses malone. Only thing holding him back is that softness that has crept into all the young-uns of late.

Amazing how many guys leave Kentucky and don't even get drafted while other teams have 1st round picks coming back year in and year out.

Those teams players that returned have guaranteed starting spots. Toppin would have lost his spot to a better player. Slight difference.

Always find it interesting how NBA teams don't seem to value the effort and determination of guys like Toppin or Oscar.

Loved Toppin. Rough career at times with njury, expectations, youth/mental preparation for a UK experience... He struggled but he didn't roll over and kept trying to live n play with honor n loyalty. IMO... And just my opinion... I think he struggled to deal with Cal and all the crap that comes with the Cal experience... and that impacted his performance. I respect him and would love to see him thrive.

He was really close and is upside with his many tools he has is exciting to think about. He's another one that has to learn how to how to move his defender with ball fakes and off the dribble changing direction and speeds to create more scoring chances. Cant just spot up or attack the rim have to have that in between game. But with his athletic ability and glide and touch he has all the tools to be an elite scorer. Maybe improve his handle a little but I think he actually has a decent handle, just seems off because he's been so tentative to use it.
