Coaches seem to think that's a better position for him. Another benefit to both Eli and Horsey moving back to natural OG positions is that it adds a ton of experience to help Burton with defensive alignment recognition... compared to last year when Eli and the OGs on either side of him were all new either to their position or the Scang's complex OL scheme.
Hard to put a value on how much help will it likely be for Jager to Horsey and Eli helping him out...especially since both of those guys have also played center. That's another reason why I really expect the OL to make a huge improvement from 2022... even if the OTs aren't known commodities in this offense yet, the inside of that OL should be very solid whereas last year the missed assignment could be coming from any of the 5 positions on that wall.
Cole knows offensive line play and offensive linemen. He has been highly complimentary of the Big Blue Wall in the past.
Yup ready to plow the field again I hope. Let them bigguns eat up the field and play with some mean aggressive attitude.
Moving Burton to center and E. Cox to guard seems like an inescapable ripple effect of bringing M. Cox on board at LT. I would have liked to watch Eli play center under Coen; I suspect he would have rebounded nicely at that position, but this lineup should give us the strongest BBW.
