Now that the season ended in the absolute worst possible way (again), what changes do you guys think should be made? Going through each individual position coach, there are a bunch that should likely be finding new work next season...

AD- Mitch Barnhart: Should be gone. He gave a coach with a losing record a huge raise and buyout. Right after that they go into a tailspin. Add in the Joker + Gillispie hires and he has done a bad job in the hiring departments, I don't care how good Cal is (and there's dissension if he actually hired Cal).

Head Coach- Mark Stoops: Safe for now, but on a short leash next year. He's not going anywhere. That buyout is stupid large. Depending on what happens around the coaching carousel there are multiple guys I would much rather throw the bank at, but I'm not paying that buyout.

Offensive Coordinator- Shannon Dawson: Should be gone. UK has shown absolutely no ability to adjust to teams. Dawson didn't help the QB's at all with easy routes/screens to get them going. Not a good recruiter, and his eye for talent is up for question (according to JR he went after Hoak over Deweaver for instance).
Possible replacements? Give James Coley a blank check. They need someone who can make adjustments and is a very good recruiter, preferably in the south.

Defensive Coordinator- DJ Elliot: Should be gone. Same thing as Dawson for the most part. UK hasn't adjusted at all in games. Leaving UK without a spy on Lamar Jackson the entire game is mind boggling. Not a good recruiter.
Possible replacements? Bo Pelini was at the game today apparently. Give him the job. He knows how to coach a defense and is a solid known guy that would help recruiting.

OL Coach John Schlarman- Should be gone from a coach standpoint, but has three really good kids coming in. He's done a good job recruiting, far better than some of the coaches. Helped lock down our three highest rated commits. Tough decision for him. I'd give him one more year.

WR Coach Tommy Mainord- Good recruiter, I have a lot of questions still as a coach. The wide receivers regressed this year. Dorian Baker was horrid. Timmons was an absolute no show this year. Need much more consistency out of this unit as it is arguably the most talented unit on the team. He's a keep for next year.

RB Coach Chad Scott- Excellent recruiter and the main guy for them in the south. The running backs were decent all year, but with Boom out it was a noticeable dip. Definite keep.

TE Coach Vince Marrow- Most obvious keep on the staff. Best recruiter on the team. I thought Conrad did a solid job this year as a blocker. But the lack of involving him in the passing game was maddening and on Dawson.

DL Coach Jimmy Brumbaugh- Defensive line play was not great this year. Losing Melvin Lewis late really hurt. Elam through two years hasn't improved. Pass rush has been horrid, despite last year having 2 NFL players on the DL (this has a lot to do with scheme imo). I'll say 50/50 on if he should stay/go.

OLB Coach Andy Buh- Gone. Stoops is a defensive guy? Why do we need an extra defensive coach? He's a non factor in recruiting as well. Move this spot to special team coordinator and focus on someone who can recruit well.

DB Coach Derick Ansley- One of the only guys that actually recruits in the south. I thought the DB's played pretty well overall this year. Westry was solid, and Edwards, West and Baity had their contributions. Next year will be interesting with Stamps gone. Time for Edwards and West to step up. Definite keep.

So going through the staff, I would say Dawson, Elliot and Buh should be gone. Quite possibly Schlarman as well. UK really needs to find a special teams coordinator, and at least one other person to help share the load in the south with Chad Scott.
