Coach Prime prediction…….

He'll be the most sought-after coach in 2-3 years...coincidentally a few things could go down in that same time frame...

-Saban retires...

-Harbaugh gets his title and heads back to the league...

-Dallas moves on from McCarthy goes after Lincoln Rielly which opens up USC gig or goes after Prime...

-OSU boots Day...especially if Harbaugh wins a title and/or keeps beating him

-Even though he just won 10 games and seems to have things on track at FSU...if Norvell so much as sneezes on a co-ed...don't think it's going to take much for the Noles to go after Prime...

All true but I’m not talking 2-3 years. Florida may do well to finish 4-8. If that happens there will be an opening this December.

Agreed. The only thing I'd add is this going the other way.

While I like this and agree with it.... Its 2023 and if it goes a certain way during a scuffle it could make him toxic to most AD's.... but that was how my coach was and I liked him.

Not sure why everyone is predicting greatness after one (great) game at CO plus beating up on a bunch of HBCUs with a distinct talent advantage. Lots of flashes in the pan with a ton of hype - hell, look at Hal Mumme.

So I am still on the fence. Let's see how the next few games go along with how TCU's season ends up (speaking of possible flashes in the pan).

Don’t see Florida taking that kind of a gamble but who knows. Lots of football left this year so have to see how well he does the remainder of the year.

OT - I can't believe how average to bad UF has been with all of their built in advantages and F$U being pretty irrelevant. I also think Hillbilly is Satterfield-Lite. That ain't gonna work in Gainesville.

I think he’s a solid coach so far, I like the way he approaches the game and he’s definitely not afraid to cut kids. At a big program where he can really recruit that is huge. Fans will know he won’t accept mediocre talent on the team if he can help it. He’s got a big name. I’ll just say his potential to be really good seems there.

A lot of people think his ultimate goal is the FSU job. But he has a lot of ties to the state of Texas, he lived there most of the time after his NFL career, started a hs academy there. And was very influential in getting Colorado to rejoin the Big 12 so he could recruit Texas.

So, maybe to Austin if Sark flops when they join the SEC? Or the volatile Jimbo experiment burns out in College Station?

I'm not real concerned about Florida getting Prime just because of all the other potential openings coming.

If we as Joe fan can kind of read the tea leaves and see some things happening, then Prime definitely knows. His contacts all through football whether it be pros, FSU alumn/movers shakers, broadcasting/journalist personalities with sources, who are like "hey prime...xyz gig is yours if you want it."

I think he knows he doesn't have to take Florida gig at this point like he had to hop on Colorado coming from Jackson St. He knows he's about to be able to pick his job and name his price essentially.

He also knows that he could tear through the B12 without Texas and Oklahoma. That Travis Hunter kid looks to be special, nobody is stopping him. If his son returns at QB, it's a wrap, they'll get play off hype.

Even if his son goes pro, I think at this point, especially if the season goes well Prime will be able to snag any top QB out of the portal. He'll go get the back up at Bama, Texas, etc who is talented enough to start anywhere.

Man, have to say both Texas schools made underwhelming hires, especially UT. You just can’t win 6-9 games with all that talent unless there’s a problem at the top imo.

If things continues pressure is on both Sark and Jimbo. Good call. I was thinking a different route, Norvell has a couple big seasons, in playoffs, maybe winning it all, Saban retiring, Norvell will be Bama's guy and Sanders to FSU. But I like your scenario better, mine has alot of "ifs".

September 23rd- September 30th Will us what we need to know early abkut Colorado. They play @oregon and USC at home, those games will tell a lot. I like sanders and want to see him succeed at Colorado

FSU finally appears to have righted their ship. The LSU game tonight should be a good one. Interested to see how good Kelly is gonna have them this year. I’m sure they will be pretty elite though.

Florida hasn’t exactly made great hires since Spurrier left 22 years ago:

Ron Zook
Urban Meyer
Will Muschamp
Jim McElwain
Dan Mullen
Billy Napier

1 good hire in their last 6, and 4 bad hires in a row unless Napier turns it around. People give Mitch a hard time…how the hell does Florida keep striking out on football coaches again and again and again.

I think Florida’s hiring record speaks more to the fact that it’s extremely difficult to find and hire a head coach that works out. The vast majority of hires aren’t going to last.

If you look at other schools, you’ll see similar patterns. Take Alabama for example. In between Bryant and Saban, they hired:
  • Bill Curry
  • Gene Stallings
  • Mike DuBose
  • Dennis Franchione
  • Mike Shula
That’s a 20 year period where Alabama made only one good hire in Stallings.

Colorado is a beautiful place and school . They have won in past . Prime makes a bunch of money already and he has proven he can get transfers at drop of hat . Lol Why get in a hurry Dallas Cowboys will come calling he is not going anywhere for year or 2

Makes no sense especially since Meyer had them rolling.

Don’t forget Mike Price.

Yep…Mal Moore (beloved Bama AD) hired Franchione, Mike Price and Shula as his first 3 football hires.

Sanders will probably stay in Colorado, unless he jumps to the NFL. Why go to a pressure cooker like Alabama or Michigan? He owns the entire state of Colorado. They're already saying that CU football is bigger than the Broncos right now. Everything in Colorado is Buffs right now. In a few years, they'll have a gold chain hanging outside of Folsom Stadium. He's not jumping unless it's the pros.

Colorado is not in big10 or
Sec…those are the two conferences if you’re considered bigtime. I think a nfl gig is coming but make no mistake…..after two years if a Florida, LSU, Texas am, Michigan, Penn st job
Comes opening …/he’s going to get those offers

IDK man, he has a huge ego that needs to be satisfied; I could see him possibly going to the SEC if the right job came open and I’m betting Texas and aTm will be shopping for new coaches within two years.

Wouldn't surprise me if he did something stupid that puts a black mark on himself as far as being hired at a big program. Dude's ego is off the charts and I'm not convinced he won't outright endorse or look the other way on some less than sanctioned behaviors. But with the way the NCAA is going today maybe no one will care.

I don’t think Prime’s methods will work in the NFL. Doubtful if he would get to pick and choose players at will.

His team is made of up transfers, including his sons. Absent a grad transfer or an exception, the Sanders boys will be at Colorado. So, I doubt Deion is anxious to leave anytime soon.

If their coach leaves players usually get an exemption.

Prime would be dangerous at Florida and I hope he doesn’t go there. He has a good staff and is charismatic and kids want to play for him and parents want their kids to play for him. I’ll be honest, I’ve listened to some of his speeches & he could probably sell me to send my son to go play for him (I only have a daughter but he could probably convince me to send HER to play for him LOL). He’s reminiscent of some Southern Baptist preachers I grew up listening to LOL.

He would kill it anywhere in the SEC. I think he’ll kill it at Colorado too… so with that scenery, that competition, and the ability to go to the store and get some recreational Mary Jane I wouldn’t be too anxious to leave (I don’t even know if he smokes the Devil’s Lettuce, and I haven’t had any Snoop Salad in well over a decade but if it was legal and my job didn’t test I would partake on occasion). We know he doesn’t need the money so he can be selective.

If he goes to a big school it'll shock me.
He's where he's comfortable and can tell people they're doubters and all that stuff. He won't be at a place that it ain't all about prime. That wouldn't fly at Bama UGA ect.
