Coach Cal Lovers/Haters

You're coaching kids for Christ sake. These kids happen to have great/bad games. I've been there and done that...more of the latter as a player. Those jumping on the hate wagon and those loving the "walk on water" band wagon. Get over it. He's just a man that has accomplished more than most anyone else in the coaching world...hence HOF...which happens to be pretty special in anyone's book.

I kind of love him...lol...wouldn't trade him. That's all I have to say on this...Forest Gump...he said it first!!!

Coach Cal is so use to the Cal haters on the internet. Just like he tells most of his players just don't read it if you don't want to read negative comments. Coach Cal also knows most of the haters is from the Rival Schools and not from the Kentucky Fans. Coach Cal says there is a small amount of UK Fans that continue to scream negative comment whether we Win or Lose. When you have a winning streak that started in 2011 till current there are a lot of pressure on both the coaching staff and the players to keep that winning streak alive. The game against Canada was a One Man show and the RJ Barrett scoring 38 points and double digits rebounding. Barrett was a monster on the offensive side of the ball and we also only hit 25/43 from the Charity Stripe missing 18 FT's. If we have the "D" on Barrett and just hold him to his Canada FIBA U19 scoring average at 20ppg and we hit our Free Throws we win the Canada game easily on Saturday night.

CAL is the best and I hope he retires here and meets all his stated goals. Get to at least 11 titles and sail into the sunset. Id even love to have a new court unveiling that says rupp arena with coach Cal court, and have caywood booth and Mr. WILDCAT Seats on the floor.

Let's not conflate anti-pumpers with haters. There's a big difference there and pumps just love to strawman everyone to death that doesn't think on a straight line. If you're someone who doesn't take a real position and thinks everything is great, fine. But don't call people out that like to get into more detail and enjoy picking things out to improve on.

Cal has ALWAYS been a hot button. It's expected at this point. I hated Cal at Memphis because I hated Memphis. I love Cal at UK because he's awesome and wins here, not there. He's also revolutionary, and anyone who's revolutionary gets both ends of the opinion pool; at least until their style is universally accepted. Cal is getting closer to that everyday that passes. The OAD was ALWAYS going to be difficult for some to swallow. Their opinion is valid, some of those guys have lived and breathed college basketball longer than some of us have been born.

I can't figure out what's so hard about that?

The beating that Cal is taking from the media and other fans is very similar to the current political landscape. I absolutely despise the media.

Never thought in a million years Cal would be attacked for losing that tournament. What a "nothing burger".

Having said that I have commented in all the threads discussing this issue but only to hopefully show people it's absurd and ridiculously small potatoes when compared to the bigger picture

What does it matter? I'm a UK football fan that follows the basketball team. Show me where it says that you have to be a die-hard UK basketball fan "only" in order to frequent this board.

I love coach Cal! He is what 90% of us always wanted. He has the perfect personality and recruiting to fit our fan base. God we're lucky. Some are too ignorant to realize it, sadly. U.K. Basketball will live on forever, but man I dread the day he leaves. Not sure we will ever have a guy more perfect for our beloved wildcats.

You , however, should not be piggy backing. You aren't a UK fan, dozens and dozens of posters on here have called you out on it and you've pretty much outed yourself as a UL fan.

I see where you are coming from and I am as traditional as a fan can be, BUT even a guy of my years has to see that things are changing, kids are changing, so we need to be more flexible and not so rigid. Would I love FOUR YEAR players of this talent, I would die for it but it ain't going to happen. I can even see people being upset but not forever, and that I think is more the problem, some can never give up their dislike of OADs and Cal.
