Getting some flak from VT fans because he wasn’t at the WNBA draft last night with his former star Liz Kitley who was the #24 pick, and also because he didn’t do any kind of formal goodbye to the school or the remaining players.
Turns out his wife is in a fourth round of chemo for breast cancer. As soon as he finished his radio show last night he drove 5 hours to be with her.
What a tough thing to be going through while also taking a high profile new job. Let’s all be as supportive as we can for Coach Brooks and his family! He’s done an amazing job in a short time with all of this weighing on him.
