A potential “Y” at a game in Rupp sometime??
But did Willie play Wide- Receiver?Adam Sandler wore a Kentucky T-shirt. I’m not joking.
Oh Brother Where Art Thou is right up tharThere's a scene of him playing [old man] ball in prison in Out of Sight & he would tell a story about his LA buddies regularly playing hoops together out there. (Warning: +20 year old story. ) I can't remember the group of newcomers they easily beat. Leonardo DiCaprio? Too long ago. My memory is a sieve.
I love Out of Sight, btw. Best George Clooney movie.
Pie in the sky kind of stuff right there.Clooney was throwing a huge Hollywood celeb party and sent a plane back to Maysville to pick up a plane load of transparent pies to be served at his party.
This was all this board had during the BCG eraAdam Sandler wore a Kentucky T-shirt. I’m not joking.

Glad you straightened 'em out, Tug, about Clooney going to H.S. in Augusta and playing basketball there. His Wikipedia entry says that he went to elementary school in Ohio, just across the river from Augusta, at two or three different Catholic elementary schools. But, as you point out, apparently his only connection with Lexington is having been born there. That ... and that he likes the 'Cats !George Clooney may have been born in Lexington but he went to school in Augusta, Ky which is a town about 15-20 miles west of Maysville on the Ohio River. Reportedly, he played on the Augusta HS basketball team. Several years ago I read a story about a couple of Augusta HS alumni stopping by the high school and George Clooney was shooting hoops at the school. I also read a story about how much Clooney loved "transparent pie" which is a well known local favorite made in a Maysville bakery and is one of the best pies I've ever eaten. According to the story several years ago Clooney was throwing a huge Hollywood celeb party and sent a plane back to Maysville to pick up a plane load of transparent pies to be served at his party.

Now ... the part about "transparent pie" ... ??? ... ;-)
It is a damn good movie. 👍There's a scene of him playing [old man] ball in prison in Out of Sight & he would tell a story about his LA buddies regularly playing hoops together out there. Thanks for the article on transparent pie! My cousin and I made several trips each year from Sandy Hook to fish Stoner Creek, a great bass stream that runs through Paris and North Middleton, Ky. Part of our "ritual" was to visit a country restaurant in Paris for lunch and wolf down a couple of pieces of Transparent Pie and a mule's ear full of coffee. Stoner is one of the best Bass streams in Ky and Transparent is the best pie I've ever eaten; Great memories!Maysville's Historic Transparent Pie
This Historic Transparent Pie is a very popular recipe in Kentucky. One bite of its rich, custardy like filling and you'll be hooked for life!mycountrytable.com
It’s like chess cake, if you’re familiar

Ain't that a geographical oddity. He is also a Dapper Dan man not unlike @*CatinIL* .
Not from Lexington unless he was born in a hospital there. From Augusta near Maysville. Played basketball there.I had no idea until today that he is from Lexington..
Pretty cool to hear him not just be a casual celeb fan, but actually be able to talk about Kentucky basketball and the things happening around the program.
Keaton is the best. He’s now my favorite Batman.
Keaton could have easily played both leads in the first movie. If you don't think he could have managed the menace to play the Joker, find Pacific Heights with Melanie Griffith and Matthew Modine. Or Desperate Measures with Andy GarciaKeaton is the best.
He’s birdman brother so he’s got a be a card fan.Keaton is the best.
Nobody could top Jack Nicholson.Keaton could have easily played both leads in the first movie. If you don't think he could have managed the menace to play the Joker, find Pacific Heights with Melanie Griffith and Matthew Modine. Or Desperate Measures with Andy Garcia
Maybe -- I disagree -- but Nicholson couldn't have played Batman.Nobody could top Jack Nicholson.
