Clemson beats Duke

A couple more losses and Duke will have that #1 seed locked up...and play their first 4 games in NC. They have the rest of the basketball world right where they want them.
I know this is sarcastic and all, but Duke will end up a 7 seed playing like that. Especially with their schedule getting VERY tough starting on the 25th (trip to Miami) and no depth up front to speak of. If Jefferson doesn't come back and play as well as he was, this team's ceiling is the Round of 32 (barring NCAA Tourney upset city).
And then have to beat a 12 seed to make the championship game--Indy
question, are Dukies attacking Coach K like UK "fan" here attack coach cal and the players?

In all honesty, Duke has a pretty good team and will be a tough out during the tourney. Playing on the road is tough everywhere this year. Look at KU, UK, MD, etc.

I haven't been around Duke boards or facebook pages to see for myself yet, but I'll offer this tidbit. When Duke was losing to NC State and Miami in the middle of last January, a few Duke fans were calling the team heartless and underachievers, so I'm 99 percent sure a few are attacking the team and Coach K after tonight as well. I'm leaving Krzyzewski alone and going after Chase Jeter myself. He's nothing short of awful at this time.
Road games are hard, but they really need Amile Jefferson back and healthy if they want a chance in the NCAAs. They're basically only six and a half deep at this point and the 'and a half' part may be generous with the way Jeter looks right now.
There are no complete teams this year, but only two free throws made in the game for Duke. Get the historians checking when that last happened.
Road game? It was not at Clemson's arena. It was in Greenville, a neutral site.
I just want to see Duke have to travel out of N.C. for their initial games in the NCAA tournament....they always get to stay home....send them up north or out west....my 2 cents...

Or you could hope they go to Raleigh. They've lost the last two games to NC State there and also lost to Mercer in the NCAAs a couple years ago there.
That's where Clemson is playing all its home games this year, while their arena is being renovated.
I mean, there were more Clemson fans than Duke fans... But it definitely wasn't the level of some of the crap we face in the SEC.
It wouldn't be fair to Duke to call it a neutral game, but it also wasn't a "home" game for Clemson the way Littlejohn would be just because of the lack of student presence.
I love UK and Cal, but I have to say this. I doubt it on the same level due to the national title win last year that they got that we had stolen from us. Winning a title makes the next season (if rougher) way easier to stomach IMO. It was like that for me in 2012-2013.

Kind of OT, but Duke related. Watched PTI today, and briefly while arguing about something else they mentioned UK and it's dominance in college BB. Said it was good for the game that 70% who watch the Cat's pull for them to lose, like the Yankee's. Tony called the UK/Wisconsin game the biggest of the year, and said hardly anyone watched the title game. Not once did they mention Duke.

I am glad to hear that Puke went down tonight but you are correct they will stay at home when the NCAAT starts no matter their record.
They do have a very tough ACC Schedule coming up and have to play UNC twice, UL twice, Pitt, ND, MIami Virginia, NC State twice. They could easily lose 4 or 5 if not more games before the end of ACC season. The ACC has more tough teams this year and like most leagues all Away games are a nightmare! One Stat that really stood out for Duke esp. in the ACC is they were 2 for 7 from the FT line tonight. They shot 50% from the field 25/50 and 11/25 from 3 for 44% but was 2/7 from FT Line for 29%. Duke was outrebounded 36-21. Everyone talks about our inside game being weak at times but Duke is another team that is weak underneath at times.
Always a good day when they lose.

Yep--- and if the NCAA can't get away with giving the dooks a top seed, they'll surely put them in the Weakest #1's bracket. Regardless, they'll play the earlier round(s) in NC.
Blossomgame and Grantham are legit. I wouldn't be surprised if they both get drafted somewhere in the 2nd round. They have a decent backcourt too, so I'm not that surprised Clemson is upsetting some good teams.
clemson has already clipped ND and VA.......so, they're not nobody......that said, we played poorly the final 27 min.....we only got 5 FT's as well........guard play was suspect and MP3 was on the milk carton.....

The last 2 times that Duke has won the national championship they have beaten the team that beat us, so it is hard to say they were handed a championship.

The problem for the NCAA this season is they really can't tell who the weakest #1 is going to be.
Team was playing really well, this is a minor setback. Next goal is to win the next three before the road trip to Coral Gables.
