Yeah... I'll tell the truth. I read this, looked at the photos, and literally wept for the kid. I've come close before, but the recognition that this is probably where he is left for life was brought home finally. I hope a very choice group of people are looking at ways to help him long term, and he will remain an oft recognized part of the program.
Chris oats was about to explode into a first team SEc player. Such a tragedy on so many levels.
This brings tears to my eyes the kid had so much promise in front of him and then this tragedy struck him. This coaching staff has done a fantastic job with this whole situation and they really care for these players!
Prayers for you and your family so sorry for the loss of your daughter.Fall of 2020 during one of our first games, ESPN ran a story about Chris. At that point no one was saying what had happened to him. My wife and I were both crying because we went through something similar in 2019 with our daughter. Our daughter ended up dying, but if she had lived, she would have been in similar or worse shape than Chris.
Please don't take this as me wanting sympathy. I only point out my daughter's situation to show empathy for Chris and his family.
I’m right there with you. I stumbled upon that tweet very early this morning (about 1 a.m.) when I couldn’t sleep. Don’t think I’ve ever felt more sorry for somebody but then I felt bad about that because he doesn’t want our pity. He just wants to be a normal young man out there chasing his dream. It’s especially tough when you see the other guys living it. Really makes you question things. I really worry about him. I hope he’s able to somehow find a way to find a career around the game. And no, I didn’t sleep very well after reading it. Laid awake asking God why he would do that.Yeah... I'll tell the truth. I read this, looked at the photos, and literally wept for the kid.
