Chip Kelly

That's a bit surprising. Seems like they were trending upward the past few years. Maybe a misperception on my part.

With coaching carousel being hot already I don't think he'll go without a job for long unless he just wants to chill in the booth or as a Nick Saban "Special Assistant" for a year or two.

Dude is a coaching savant and offensive genius type of character who changed the modern game at Oregon. If you want some offensive pop and general excitement, you'll at least put Kelly on your call list.

Miss St, Mich St, Boise St, Aggies - all need a coach for sure

Houston, Baylor, Syracuse, Indiana, Nevada - may need a coach

He had a super QB, Dorian Thompson-Robinson(DTR they call him), for 4 years who has moved on to the Browns and hasn't been able to replace him although to be fair they've had multiple QB injuries that's left his O stale. To be honest, I think he may have gotten fat and lazy.

How much UCLA have you watched over the last 5 yrs? They have never looked like the blur Oregon teams.

The Chip Kelly of early 2010's Oregon died in the NFL. He has been pro style conventional offense ever since, demonstrably not exciting or innovative any longer.

He doesn’t get the financial support like USC does plus UCLA has higher academic requirements. I think he deserves another season. But what do I know….🤔

Very few coaches and programs can sustain 11-12 wins a year in a P5 conference. Had he stayed put in Eugene, the natural ebbs and flows of football would have tapered him off.

What he did while he was at Oregon was just silly.

I would say thanks in large part to Kelly Oregon is a bigger brand name nationally and more of a sought-after destination for talent than UCLA.

Bruins have never been a football destination. They're second fiddle in their own home. They lean more academic.

They may not even fire him this year. I mean if the beats Cal and wins a bowl that's 8 wins. Not bad. Who knows, USC is upsettable.

If they do fire him, I'd love to see him in the ACC or Big12. I think he probably fits those conferences a bit better and could really do well for a program looking to get into the 8–10-win neighborhood. B12 specifically will be up for grabs minus Oklahoma and Horns. Put him at Baylor or Houston with easy access to the Texas athletes, and he could do something.
