I believe he is being totally overlooked he is athletic as anyone and plays with a lot of energy!!

On to another topic I am just as excited about watching the ride with this team just as I have any other UK team that's why I love Kentucky basketball we are always a contender and this team will just show you how good of a coach Cal is!!!

No reason in stressing on who we don't get they will be the ones regretting it when we are back in the final 4 and they are sitting at home after a second round loss!! BBN

In the times I've watched him, I like the way he moves- fluid, bouncy athlete. I also like his shot, but I don't know his percentages. Seems to know how to play.

I'd prefer to have a stud scorer on the wing, but a combination of Matthews, Mulder and Willis isn't bad by any means. Cal's developed kids before. It's not like he has had 5* OADers for 30 years.

I look for Matthews to completely surprise people. He's been overlooked and almost become the forgotten man. I think this will just fuel his fire to succeed.

Matthews is being overlooked ONLY because he got hurt last summer and dropped in the rankings. He is a great athlete and is bouncy and can shoot (he worked on his shot over the last year and has developed into a consistent 3pt threat). It sucks that people put SO MUCH stock into rankings (#42 ESPN, #48 Rivals, and #55 on 24/7) because he's the kind of recruit that, in years past, we would consider one of our best of the class, but now that he's not considered a 5-star prospect in the Coach Cal era, he's being looked at as a project or a kid who is a guaranteed 3-4 year player. I mean, he was a top 20, 5-star player just a year ago. He's going to surprise a lot of people with his energy and poise and I wouldn't be surprised to see him be one of our top scorers on the year.

I'm looking forward to playing UL and Arkansas and watching them try to press us. Obviously have Ulis and Briscoe, but when you mix in Matthews in the middle of the press break (a la MKG), it will be lob city all day.

What impresses me is his body. He has that long broad body Liggins had that can get more muscle on it and not lose a step to help him guard bigger players yet keep up with smaller quicker ones. He's got an incredible vertical coupled with a long wing span. I'd be shocked if he doesn't pull a ulis and become a fan favorite before sec play.

People tend to forget he was a top 15 player at one time. An injury during the most crucial evaluation time junior year-aau summer set him back. 5 star athlete who will have time to work on his game, but we see the floor for defensive minutes.

Don't know if he'll be a top scorer but he should be a nice defensive stopper/rebounder right away. Unlike some in last year's group this backcourt should rebound well and defend well.
